Dr. Anuradha Shanmugham, MD

Dr Anuradha is a very caring and Good Person who helps Veterans. One of the Best Primary care doctors I’ve had at VA.

The most hateful, unprofessional and incompetent doctor I ever met. Medical degree from India. Strongly recommend her to your enemy(s).

One of the basic, most widely known and understood ethical principles doctors must adhere to is to do no harm.  When you refuse a patient care and medical treatment, that is effectively and irrevocably doing them harm.  This doctor refused me necessary and critical medical care even though she was the only doctor I could find that my insurance would cover.  There is NO justifiable excuse for this.  I may have a complicated disease and health history, but if anything that makes me even more deserving of proper health care as I literally cannot live without it.  Shame on you Dr. Shanmugham.  I really do not know how you sleep at night.  Definitely must be one of those doctors that is just in it for the paycheck as she certainly is not practicing medicine.

I wasn't real comfortable with Dr. Anu. I feel like she jumped to a diagnosis with no tests. I do not have what she diagnosed and have not heard back from her or her staff in the 3 weeks since my appointment. I need another test she has recommended but no call back to set appointment. I have tried to call the dept. several times (from work since most of us work) it is basically impossible to get through. I will not be staying with her after I get this second test. I would leave now however insurance requires I stay with her until this is completed.

I had to make an appointment 3 months in advance. The day before they called and canceled and said I had to wait 3 more months just for another appointment. Horrible experience and poor customer service.

Dr. Anu (as everyone calls her) is a young doctor with an incredibly caring, compassionate, personal manner. She is an excellent doctor and will spend time answering questions, suggesting solutions, and making you feel like a person, not a number.
