Dr. Aparna B. Vaikunth, MD

I had very bad experience with Dr.Vaikunth. To be very true having her as my PCP has been the worst mistake I have ever made. She does not have enough knowledge . She referred me to a wrong Specialist from Duke( Was clear that they are suppose to refer to inhouse specialist for business promotions ) . The appointment I was given was 6 months far . When I myself did some research and asked couple of friends who were doctors and therapists , they were surprised that a doctor could give such a referral . I cancelled my appointment with that specialist .She clearly doesn't have enough knowledge and understanding of her field . Having her as my PCP has clearly harmed me. It took me 1 extra year to find the right specialist for me. When I complained about the bill I received for her horrible service , they waived off the bill (Clearly they understood her mistake that delayed my treatment and I had to undergo so much pain). Please do not go to her. A doctor not having understanding of… their own field - How harmful can that be . SHe has horrible bedside manners also. I have waited for her in the exam room for 50 minutes and literally got out of her room when no one checked on me. She came in room with no apologies at all . SHe has no clue what a patient can go through when they are in a chronic pain .

This doctor does not care! We had couple of concerned so want to have physical check up so may be the result reveal any issues. she walked in for a couple of minutes. she was not listening to anything we said. I could not tell if she did not know or just did not care or maybe both! then she said we asked too many question and we will have to come back for another visit for the physical. I was so amazed because she has just walked in. honestly, I'll have to say she is the worst doctor I have ever seen.

I saw Dr. Vaikunth for a new patient appointment and loved her. She was knowledgeable, friendly and treated me with respect. She spent a good amount of time with me and I never felt rushed. She accurately pinpointed some issues I was having and treated me appropriately. I am very happy to have found her as a doctor and would recommend her to anyone.

Terrible. I went for a physical and to ask about some problems I had been having. She seemed like she didn't care, rushed through everthing, and didn't give me time to ask questions or talk about my symptoms. I definitely won't come back.
