Dr. Archana Narasimha Rao, MD

This doctor seemed totally disinterested in me as her patient. She was rushed and never listened to my issues and I was the only patient in the office. When I saw “rushed” I think she wanted to get back to her Facebook page. Find yourself another doc!

Worst experience ever!

Incompetent - Annual evaluations range from 3-5 minutes, consisted of receptionist weighing me and taking my blood pressure with a wrist cuff. I have high blood pressure and Rao never commented or mentioned a word about it or the relevance of my prescriptions or condition to my health issues. My last visit, the diastolic was over 100 mm Hg. Rao's contribution included 2 questions: 1) have you had any seizures?, 2) do you need any prescriptions refilled?, and 1 statement: see you next year. In the past she has scolded me for using a medicine she prescribed and then she gave me 5 refills for the same medicine, she's overdosed me in the past, she's refused to discuss any concerns that I've had relative to my health or medicine, changed my prescriptions without notifying me, and recently fired me as a patient for questioning the aforementioned. I've never been rude or disrespectful to her or her staff. You may think this is some sort of vendetta against her, but I've told my friends and… colleagues for years that I should inform someone of her lack of providing the level of care expected from a physician. Supposedly, she took the Hippocratic oath. Trust me, all of the above is true. If someone told me that their annual evaluations were less than 5 minutes, I would not believe them. I've been a university professor for over 25 years with a PhD in an allied health field and have taught in both clinical and applied sciences. My background includes applied physiology in human performance with a specialty in statistics and research. I've nothing to gain from my comments, but I believe that I have a responsibility to warn others of her inability to provide reasonable care to her patients. In the time that I was her patient, it was not uncommon for me to learn of patients that abandoned her due to incidents similar to the ones I shared. Even my wife who is an elementary school teacher mentioned on several occasions of other teachers or parents that were unsatisfied with the care they received. Finally, I don't have the time, the desire, or the energy to report her to the Texas Medical Board, but somehow, I plan to do so in an attempt to prevent others from experiencing incompetent medical practice that could potentially result in serious negative health consequences.

My daughter was suffering from a condition of pseudo tumor cerebrum. The brain thinks u have a tumor cause excruciating headaches. She told her there was nothing wrong with her and accused her of drug seeking. The most I compassionate horrible excuse for a dr I've ever seen. After being referred to dr in Dallas my daughter received a brain shunt to remove excess fluid. Would never recommend anyone to herl

I put everything as poor, her receptionist made it impossible for me to get an appointment. It took me 4 months to get a phone call back, and after a month of scheduling me on days I specifically said I couldn't go Dr. Rao says she can't see me. I still have my neuro issues that haven't been addressed. I wish she could have said that from the beginning so that I could have gotten help else where.

I find Dr. Rao cold and uncaring.....always seems to be in a hurry and leaves you still wondering what the diagnoses is, what to do next just helplessness sets in...would not recommend her. I went in with high expectations and came out disappointed.

No never again I was referred by another doctor. We cannot determine why my left side goes numb and then I fall. I have severe back pain. She came in the room sat down never shook my hand or anything, she told me this was in my head because of my depression. I said well why do I fall and can't fell my leg? She said again it's in my head and cause I think about it too much and then she walked out. She is a joke I would not send my dog to her.

No, I would not choose this dr again. I was referred to her by primary care. She assured me I did not have the condition referred for. The pain was and has been excruciating and some symptoms are visible. Told me after 1st visit to call if needed anything..called would not see me... tried to see her 3 times in a month, made me wait for one month. Then said I needed to see someone else. The symptoms and pain are more than extreme. An eye has been compromised, but I do not know if due to what ever I have or not. But suffering.

Every visit results in a shorter consultation, increase in abruptness/condescending attitude, and unwillingness to answer questions. She will not answer or take time to answer questions to other relevant health issues. I left my former neurologist for her due to my dissatisfaction in treatment. She is now discussing my condition with the former and making decisions based on here recommendations. Based on my situation, this is unethical even though it may be legal in the practice of medicine. In addition, medical advice has appeared to contradict previous visit more and more over time.
