Dr. Christopher William Vanderzant, DO

I want my doctor to be competent, knowledgeable & prescribe a treatment that works for me. That's what Dr. Vanderzandt does best! If my personality doesn't match theirs, so be it. Actually Dr. V has a fun personality, a great bedside manner with a dry wit of humor I enjoy. He does not have an ego and consulted with other doctors about my case so I believe he has the patient's best interest.

Do not waste your time calling his office for any reason. They absolutely never return a phone call. I have called three times and crickets. Not the proper way to treat people.

Dr. Vanderzandt is a good tell it like it is doctor. I have only had office visits, but I would feel comfortable following his lead in whatever he suggested that would improve my quality of life.

He was good and seemed to know what was going on but his staff/nurse was awful. No courtesy during the appointment while I visibly have a migraine and she would bang her clip board around and talk extremely loud. Rushed in and out. They never followed up for treatment like they said they would and would not return a call or email after asking everyday for over two weeks. Not Acceptable!

Dr. Vanderzant tells me that having Epilepsy was not life changing, then his male nurse comes in and tells me I can not drive myself home and all this stuff that is life changing. I don't live in San Angelo and no one called me to tell me not to drive alone. The nurse also tells me that this is life changing and could not explain why the doctor said different. He was rude and didn't care how I was to get home. My side affects were off the charts. I am looking for another doctor that can let me know when I am having these seizures that they say I am having.

I have been ill for 28 years so appreciate the dr's that come along and make a huge difference in my life. In the mid-90's, I had a car accident and ended up with a spinal fracture....this is when I first saw Dr. Vanderzant and he took such good care of me that I do very well today. Dr. V wrote a letter on my behalf years ago that literally saved my life. I have had many dr's over the 28 years but this neurologist has been my physician for the most years. He may seem tough but this is what makes him so good at what he does. My Mom (and caregiver) and I appreciate all Dr. Vanderzant has done with taking such good care of me with my many years with HIV disease. I hold my head a little higher thanks to him!

I am very happy with Dr. Vanderzant's care.

His assistant is more knowledgeable and caring than he is. He doesn't review test results in a timely manner. 1 1/2 years after the test is too late for an elderly patient in poor health. He doesn't accurately assess a patient's health enough to realize the patient can't has lost the ability to walk, but insists the patient walk just so he can watch him fall down. This doctor has not done anything beneficial for my father in the last 4 years. Will pursue other physicians.
