When my former internal medicine doctor retired, I was so disappointed. I thought she was wonderful and was certainly not happy about having to establish a new doctor-patient relationship. But Dr. Arezou Nazary totally won me over within just a few minutes at my first appointment with her. Three things struck me most in talking to her. The first was the clarity of her explanations and the big picture perspective that she offered on how to avoid serious illness. She very clearly summarized the key things that make human beings sick, the key factors that cause those illnesses, and the main tools we have to treat the underlying causes. I understood where my health strengths and issues are, and how we would go about minimizing my risk of future disease. (What more could a patient ask for??) The second was her warmth and obvious empathy. The conversation weaved back and forth between my many questions and concerns, and the relevant information she offered me. Throughout, it was… obvious that my well-being was always uppermost in her mind. Last of all, she is very current with medical knowledge. She knew of research that changed some standard recommendations which happened to apply to me. So I’m now on track to do what the latest research suggests. The appointment was tremendously enlightening. This doctor is a gem. I’m keeping her!!
