Dr. Ari Louis Konheim, MD

Nearly 2 years ago I went to Dr. Konheim for a full body exam. I had a concern about a rash on my right cheek. He gave it a 2 second glance and told me it was nothing to worry about and to use dandruff shampoo on my face. The rash never got bigger and really didn't bother me but the dandruff shampoo didn't really cure it. Going to a different dermatologist, he took one look at it and cut a small piece off for a biopsy. You guessed it, the biopsy came back positive for Squamous Cell Carcinoma. Asking around, it appears that Dr. Konheim has built a reputation as totally inept and I certainly agree. How can any good doctor get a 3.1 rating out of 5 review? BEWARE!

I have been seeing Dr. K. for two years now for annual check-ups. I am a 73 year old, white male. I have found him to be patient, a great listener, and a competent technician. He explains issues and procedures throughly. I have always found his nurses and the receptionists very friendly and professional as well. He has my highest recommendation.

The first time I saw Dr. Konheim I thought he was nice and professional, fast forward to present time and I have had a totally different experience and would not recommend. His nurse is awful and rude and the office never returns calls. When I did reach his nurse she acted as if I was bothering her about getting a prescription. After not listening to me she finally said I will ask the doctor. Never heard from her or the office again. I had to find another doctor who was very pleasant as well as her entire staff and she was able to help me right away.

I'm an obese 60-year-old seeking removal of some irritating skin tags in sweaty friction prone areas. Dr. Konheim basically told me to just lose weight and quit complaining, as insurance wouldn't cover any tag removal, then offered to Nitrogen-freeze off a couple that looked pre-cancerious. In my 40's and 50's other dermatologists removed all my lagger tags and sent them out fir bioposy. Dr. Konheim seemd to infer that body image wasn't much important after 60, considering my body weight.

Not good patience doctor relations

His demeanor could use work and his personality is very dry. I went to him as recommended by my physician for spotty dry skin and he described all that he was going to do and gave me options. Waiting for the results of the biopsy and may be going back.

Went to him for the first time today. Very good demeanor...kind and patient. Excellent at explaining condition and procedure. I like him very much.

I read the other reviews and it looks like the same person wrote the same review about 4 times. Dr. Konheim is wonderful. He spends time with patients and is very thorough. I would recommend him to anyone!!

Went to see dr konheim for extremely itchy scalp, and skin with frequent hives and hair loss. Receptionist was unfriendly and rude. The dr was cold, unfeeling, rude, and not helpful at all. I was rushed out of the office and was told maybe I should see a psychologist or psychiatrist to prescribe me something for the itchy hives. I didn't understand that logic at all and he wouldn't take the time to explain. Would not recommend dr Ari Konheim to a sick animal let alone a human being

I scheduled an appt with dr konheim at the twins burg office due to extreme itchy scalp and skin with frequent hives and hair loss because a couple of other doctors recommended that I see a dermatologist fo it. When I arrived at the office to check in the receptionist didn't make eye contact but asked for my insurance card and ID and gave me papers to fill out while looking at and talking to her co worker. After being walked back to the operatory, the nurse said to remove my clothes and place gown on because dr konheim would want to take a look. When dr konheim came in he asked me why I was there but then cut me off mid explanation to ask who my primary care dr. Was. He never let me finish explaining. He asked me to see my scalp and then asked "did you wear braids as a child?" Which I felt was a racist remark! If I was a Caucasian woman, he would not have asked me that. Then when I said no he asked " really?? You never wore braids?" He said my scalp looked healthy and he didn't see… anything wrong with my skin and that he couldn't help me. He Also said " the hair loss should be stable now that you haven't put any more chemicals or anything in it anymore" I never told him that I had put those things in my hair to begin with. The entire appt dr konheim was dismissive in regards to my problem, offered no advice, made racist comments, etc . After telling me my scalp looked healthy prescribed an anti fungal shampoo which I told him I did not want and a topical steroid to help with the itchy fire which he never did bother to call in. When I mentioned that my scalp isn't the only place it happens he asked me to show him where. He swiped the tip of his forefinger on my thigh then back and said I looked perfectly fine and dismissed me and told me the nurse would be back with my prescription... This review doesn't even come close to painting the picture of how much of an a hole he was! I clicked 1 star because I had to but wouldn't even give him that
