Dr. Arthur Stephen Hansman, MD

I went to this doctor twice and then quit. As noted in other patients’s reviews, he has a terrible “bedside manner” and seems more interested in generating additional office visits than anything else. I quit him when I needed just a week’s worth of basic blood pressure medication I have been on for the last 30 years, while I was traveling out of state, and his office refused and told me to go to some Urgent Care facility.

Condescending, doesn't listen, doesn't make eye contact, can't get electronic prescriptions correct. Does seem to be up on research and trends in medicine but cons outweigh the pros. Went with him because he was in the same office as our previous provider who we liked. Office staff is pretty good, but can't abide with his personality. We are, after all, the consumer of a service he provides, and as such have a right to be treated respectfully.

I have been going to Dr. Hansman for over 20 years and he's a great doctor. He genuinely cares about his patients and is very knowledgable when it comes to diagnosing what's wrong. He's also not afraid to say he doesn't know and he'll research to find the answer. I would highly recommend him.

Dr. Hansman has been my doctor for about 25 years. It is always easy to make an appointment. I usually arrive 10 or 15 minutes early and normally I never wait for more than a few minutes. The nurses are always pleasant and professional. Dr. Hansman is very knowledgeable but doesn't hesitate to say when he is unsure about something. He always finds the information or knows where to send me to get it. He always takes time to answer all my questions and doesn't laugh when I bring in an article from a magazine or from the Internet. He has referred me to several different specialists over the years and since he has been in the area many years he knows many doctors and what kind of doctor they are and who does a good job. He truly seems to care about me and my family and that is very important to me. We are planning on moving out of the area and I am going to feel like I am leaving a family member behind. He always tells me exactly what he thinks, good or bad, and I appreciate the honesty. I… would refer anyone that wants a truly wonderful doctor to him.

Honestly, this is the worst doctor I've ever been to. He is rude, doesn't even listen to his patient's complaints, and thinks too highly of himself to connect or help the patient in any way. Our family has been going to him for several years, and has finally had enough after putting up with his condescending manner and inability to help with ANYTHING for years. Stay away or if you already go to him find another doctor immediately!

If you are looking to be demeaned, Dr. Hansman is your doctor to choose. He was totally unaware of my medical history which was right in front of him. Did not even know the medicine that HE prescribed me!!! I left his office in a worse condition that I entered. He is rude, condescending, and has absolutely no bedside manner. I went home extremely upset and found another primary doctor.

Look for another doctor. Our family stuck with him for 7years in spite of his terrible bedside manner. He's condescending and even insulting. It was not unusual for me to leave his office quite upset because of the way he treated us. We switched practitioners because my daughter refused to ever go to him again. I now realize how bad he really was. Truly, find another doctor, you'll be so glad you did!

This doctor was AWFUL! After being a patient for several years and never having a serious medical illness, I went to him seriously ill. However, Doctor Hansman refused to even look at my symptoms kept insisting that it was depression or a mental illness. Last time I checked, depression doesn't cause your stomach to be so bloated that you look 4 months pregnant! Then, he questioned me about depression which basically consisted of him accusing me of being homosexual, anorexic, not caring about myself, and faking my sickness (I'm not exactly sure how you can fake a bloated stomach...). In general, he does more harm than good when his patient has an illness.

I have been a patient of Dr. Hansman for many years and frankly surprised at how poor this office is run.I've been hung up on, phone calls never returned (doctor and staff), poor communication between staff and my insurance company.The list goes on not to mention the horrible bed side manner of this doctor.I'm sure there are many fine doctors out there , with properly trained staff looking for great patients.

Dr. Hansman has been my Primary Care Provider for about 5 years. He has consistently taken care of illnesses that are appropriate for a family physician and has referred me promptly when specialist care is indicated. He recommends preventive measures and he supports my desire to correct problems by behavior modification rather than drugs when I can. He listens and he gives me the time I need without rushing.
