Dr. Arthur John Ulm, MD

My mother had a major surgery on her back and Dr ulm and his office have been top notch they even are coming to her house today for pain management they treat you with compassion and get to know each patient. They don't just have to look up your chart they personally know each pts needs. I felt at ease during my mother's procedure even though I am 500 Miles away

From the first visit to the last everything has been wonderful. Dr. Ulm and his staff took great care of me. Becky and Ronnie always explained things well if I had any questions. Dr. Ulm explained everything so well after getting my MRI. Thank you for taking great care of me. I will send anyone that says they have back pain to him.

Oh my goodness…. Where to start!!! My sister had back surgery by Dr. Ulm. After that we never saw him again even though he kept her coming back every three months for a year. The hospital, Skyline in Nashville, was horrific. I wouldn’t take my pet to that hospital. It was unfathomable how negligent they were. I contacted Dr. Ulm about the horrible treatment my sister received and he did nothing even though he sent us there! Dr. Ulm had my sister getting Cat scan X rays every three months which was extremely excessive and unnecessary knowing she had had breast cancer and she didn’t need that much radiation. After her surgery we never saw him even though we went back every few months. It was as if he was DONE with us after he did the surgery. His office failed to give us much needed information about her spine being pinched above and below the surgery place. It took a different specialist to tell us. Ulm said she’d be better in three months. A year later she’s STILL having… horrific pain and walks worse now than before the surgery. I’m so disappointed in Ulm. I thought he’d have a better bed side manner and take better care of her. I had considered having him do my surgery. NOW…. AFTER SIS’S NIGHTMARE…. THERE IS NO WAY I’D TRUST HIM TO DO ANYTHING ON ME!!!! I have recently found out that a back Doctor in Louisville, Dr, Jeff Gum, comes highly recommended and I’m going to try to get in to see him. If you’re looking for a good bed side manner AFTER THE SURGERY I do NOT recommend Dr. Ulm. He never saw us after sis’s surgery even though HE KNEW she was having so much trouble. I just have no more confidence in him to do what’s best for the patient. He seems more interested in doing what’s best for his wallet!

Dr. Ulm took care of me after I was taken to the emergency room with a ruptured aneurysm, he and his team kept my family informed while they worked to stabilize me and throughout my surgical procedures. He saved my life and there are no words to adequately express my gratitude for his level of care, expertise and skill to deal with such a serious condition. Thank you Dr. Ulm for giving me many more years with my beautiful family!

After my son hurt his back, his chances of getting into the Naval Academy and/or Airforce Academy looked slim to none. Not only did Dr. Ulm and his staff work him in quickly for an appointment (as time was of the essence) they went above and beyond even writing a personal letter to the academies letting them know his back was fully healed and he was a perfect candidate. Our family could not believe someone that was so busy, took time out of his overloaded schedule to not only help our son medically, but personally as well. Dr. Ulm is an extremely knowledgeable and competent doctor. We have complete trust in him medically and think the world of him personally! He definitely deserves a 5 star rating!

Dr. Ulm is a phenomenal doctor! I highly recommend him, and what an amazing staff! Give them a call, you work regret it!

I saw Darice to evaluate my neck pain. She was fantastic. She clearly explained what she thought might be going on with me and then I followed up with Dr. Ulm to talk about next steps. Dr. Ulm personally called Dr. Nwofia to get injections for my neck pain set up within the week.

Dr. Ulm is a brilliant neurosurgeon & the most compassionate doctor I have ever met. He and his entire staff always treat me as a person first, and not as just a chart or condition. He listens to all of my concerns and questions, staying with me until I fully understand. He performed 2 back surgeries which enabled me to walk & move without pain. I know he is just a phone call away if I have any problems or questions. He has my utmost respect & trust.

Dr Ulm has a great bedside manner and is very attentive. He is truly a blessing to me and my family. His staff is pretty awesome, Rony has been so helpful and caring! After dealing with several doctors and office staff over the last few years. I can tell you they are by far my favorite!!!
