Dr. Arti D Shah, MD

I lost Dr. Shah as my endocrinologist since I had to leave Kaiser and am now very sad. She was super responsive, answered all my questions, and was very thorough in testing. By far the best endocrinologist that I have had. She is super nice and great bedside manner as well! Going to other endocrinologists after Dr Shah is just frustrating since they aren't anywhere near as thorough or caring.

The good experiences never get recognized. Dr. Shah is a true professional. She is an expert and highly knowledgeable and picked the best course of action for me. She is kind, caring, and listens to you. Highly recommended. Take these reviews with a grain of salt. Great experience in my case with Dr. Shah.

Dr. Shah was the worst doctor I’ve ever seen. I was referred to her after being recently diagnosed with type 2 diabetes. I was so overwhelmed and anxious about the diagnosis, and she made me feel far worse than when I came in. She didn’t show any compassion or kindness. She was extremely cold and rude and commented on my thick neck and stretch marks. She didn’t explain much and wanted to immediately put me on insulin and told me I may never be able to have kids. I knew she was wrong, and saw another doctor who allowed me to take metformin and make lifestyle changes before putting me on insulin. Within 3 months I had dropped my a1c to a normal level, and now I have twins and am not on any medications. There are great doctors out there, but she is not one of them.

First visit - instead of introducing herself and asking the patient what brought him to her, she barely say Hi and goes looking at her computer, completely ignoring the patient. Very poor communication skills both in person and through UCLA’s portal. Did more harm than good. Friend had an even worst experience. He came to her with a problem, and according to him - because of her treatment, he ended up with multiple problems he never had before, AND his original issue got worse.

I've had three diabetes doctors for my type 2 diabetes over 25 I have had three doctors for my diabetes, All very good, DR.Shah has been the very BEST, She has returned all my calls,even calling at 7;30 at night on a Friday before a three day holiday. She is the BEST

Dr. Shah is horrrible. She makes patients feel like nameless, faceless numbers. She was an hour late for my appointment, didn't listen to word I said. Looked me up and down like I was a pretencious liar. The icing on the cake was that she did not bother to call me when my lab tests, that she ordered indicated a new cancer growth. If this is not grounds for malpractice, I don't know what is.
