Dr. Arturo Camacho, MD

This Dr or lack of the term is very unprofessional. I was referred to him for surgery due to a compressed cervical spinal cord and nerves. From the first time I met him he stated that my pain can't be caused by this and more less I was making it up. I was in tears. The following day after being admitted he came back to see me and scheduled surgery I was on the phone with my mother letting her know I would be having surgery promptly hanging up when he came in my room. The first thing he says is how's the pain I said it was really bad this morning and his response you didn't look that uncomfortable when I came in! His bedside manor and cooky God complex is the worst I have ever seen if it wasn't for being in the amount of pain I'm in I would definitely be going somewhere else. I pray to God he never needs this surgery and ends up with a complete arrogant Dr like himself!

Dr. Camacho works at Penn Highlands Dubois and treated my grandparent who broke their back absolutely terribly. He has ABSOLUTELY no bedside manner, was rude, and dismissed everything they had to say. We switched to Vollmer Pain Clinic and our issues are now being addressed, with friendly staff who treats you like an actual human. You wonder why people like Dr. Camacho even are doctors when they so clearly hate people.

I realize back surgery is always a gamble and not any two cases are created equal, but should I ever require any spinal related procedure I will seek out Dr. Arturo Camacho. His demeanor was humble yet confident and from my first consultation when he described the surgery I required to my 6 week follow up I felt extremely comfortable and at peace in his care. Hospitals and medical professionals during the pandemic have been overworked and fatigued so getting into his care took a little time, but when I arrived to my first appointment he was ready with a course of action which has literally given me much of my life back. I finally felt like I had found a doctor who truly realizes and acknowledges the pain his patients are in which was also so refreshing and extremely comforting. Post surgery he and his team laid out clear at home care instructions, and follow up appointments within hours of my surgery. I’m grateful to him and everyone at St. Vincent Hospital.

Dr. Camacho in Erie, PA is a wonderful surgeon and human being! He was kind, considerate, and professional. I had a laminectomy and after the surgical pain was gone, my pain was gone. I would highly recommend this surgeon!

If you know what is best for you stay away from this doctor. He has a God complex. I was at the end of a long line of failed therapies and treatments and my family doctor said it was time for surgery. I had a consult with this doctor and before I could even explain what was going on with me he was coming down on me and telling me there was no way I was in as much pain as I am. He refused to treat me and now I am out of options. Horrible bedside manner. Treats you like you are less than human. Belittled you until you are sobbing in the exam room and then leaves his NP to clean up the mess. Unprofessional and despicable.

I am a Registered Nurse. I had the unfortunate experience of needing an emergency ACDF and this was the physician responsible for my care. I am not even 2 weeks post op and he has pulled all pain medications. He treated me as if I am just drug seeking. I had to suggest neurontin for the horrific nerve pain in my arm. He suggested nothing. He is rude and does not seem to care about his patients at all. He has given me no recommendations as far as what to do or not do. When i asked about work letters, he asked what i would like them to say, instead of letting me know what i was able to do/not do. I felt helpless leaving his office. I am 10 days post a major neck surgery, still in severe pain, and my neuro surgeon has made me feel that Im on my own with this. I would never recommend him to anyone. Horrible!!!

I had an initial consult with Dr. Camacho wherein for the entirety of the visit, I felt like anything I had to say was being dismissed. I have an educational and professional background that enables me to be more informed than your typical patient, but this seemed to strike Dr. Comacho as nothing other than annoyance. He failed to instill any degree of trust or respect in our patient-provider relationship. Quite honestly, I place higher value on technical skills than bedside manner. Unfortunately, the lack of trust has already sent me looking for a second opinion elsewhere after Dr. Camacho dismissed an alternative to fusion surgery simply because he doesn't perform the alternative.

Do NOT allow this jerk to touch you if you dared to question his medical opinion! He will completely violate his H.O. to cause intentional harm after he puts you to sleep. He will run biopsy probes through gray matter that did not need to be violated. You “might” wake up from a biopsy with all of your teeth cracked through the enamel and into the dentin! You might not be able to sleep anymore because he damaged the regulatory area of the brain. He feels immune from any legal recourse, especially if you are not affluent. He should have his license to practice REVOKED!

If you see this doctor be very careful what you say or he might take it out on you in the O.R.! He assaulted me maliciously during an operation after an argument we had in the E.R. He lied about it too.
