Dr. Ashley Ann Dufrene

Ashley Dufrene, PMHNP-BC, is a compassionate and dedicated psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner, proudly serving the community of Morgan City, Louisiana, at Ochsner St. Mary. Ashley began her healthcare journey as a registered nurse in a fast-paced emergency department, where she developed strong clinical skills and a deep commitment to patient care. She later transitioned to working on a psychiatric/behavioral health unit, where her passion for mental health truly took root.

Ashley earned both her Bachelor of Science in nursing and her Master of Science in nursing with a specialization as a psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner from Nicholls State University, where she cultivated a strong foundation in evidence-based mental health treatment. She is board certified by the American Nurses Credentialing Center and remains committed to advancing her practice through ongoing education and professional development.

As a member of the American Psychiatric Nurses …Association, Ashley stays connected with the latest research and best practices in mental health care. She is known for her empathetic approach, listening carefully to her patients' concerns and working collaboratively to develop individualized treatment plans that promote healing and wellness. Ashley is passionate about reducing the stigma surrounding mental illness and strives to create a safe, supportive space for every patient she serves.
