Ashley Shelton, FNP, is a family nurse practitioner who has a passion for sleep medicine, women's health and preventative care. Ashley's mission is to improve her patients' overall health, quality of life and independence. She believes that communication is the key to great health and enjoys educating her patients, so they feel empowered and involved in their care. She was inspired to become a nurse practitioner by her mother who is also a nurse at Scripps. Her health care journey began in 2004 when she volunteered at Scripps Memorial Hospital La Jolla in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU). Prior to becoming a nurse practitioner, Ashley worked for several years in the surgical ICU at Scripps. In her spare time, she enjoys cooking, baking and spending time with her family and friends.
