Aslan Pirouz, MD

Dr. Pirouz was taking care of me at Cedars Sinai. He didn't return pages to the nurses for hours so my care was delayed. His excuse was that he was working at other hospitals as well. He is nice enough, but has a very cold bestside manner. He didn't seem knowledgeable about my condition compared to other doctors I have seen before. He also forgot to order some of my home medications at admission and I went over 24 hours without them because he wouldn't return pages. On the weekend he has other doctors cover him who were even worse! He also forgot to order the antibiotics the infection doctor recommended at discharge and I had to wait 2 days until my primary care doctor could order them. Overall he just didn't provide the care or service I expect. I unfortunately have been sick and hospitalized many times and this was one of the worse experiences I have had at any hospital. He is inexperienced and just graduated from his speciality training (he's a nephrologist). I'm sure he will get… better as he gains experience, but he is someone I strongly recommend you avoid until that time comes.
