Dr. Atiya Khan, MD

I just wrote a health grade review on her: Very dismissive, does not explain thoughts/theories at all, unwilling to listen to parents and is unwilling try to understand what is happening with a patient. Makes families seem as if they are a burden which makes for a very uncomfortable, stressful atmosphere. Would not recommend, ever. Just make the 2 hour drive to Riley Children’s Hospital and save yourself the worry.

It’s first of all ridiculous that she is supposedly the only neurologist one Fort Wayne to see children. In six years of seeing her, we were never in the waiting room less than an hour. Several times we waited for two hours only to end up rescheduling. If she was a doctor who spent a lot of time with her patients, I would be more patient with this. Unfortunately she is not. Dr. Khan will only see new patients, and then leaves her RNs to do all the work. We saw Dr Khan maybe three times over the course of six years, and this is with a child with major neurological issues and severe epilepsy. When asked to do testing to confirm his diagnosis, she dismissed us several times. Her only answer was alway to keep increasing medicine. We finally had enough and switched to Riley, where we have received undeniably better care. Turns out that his diagnosis was, in fact, incorrect, and that there are other treatment options available. If we had stayed with Dr. Khan, we never would have… found this out. If you’re able, make the drive to Riley and get a doctor who actually sees their patients.

Dr Kahn does a great job @ working with us. The only flaw I would list is 99percent of the time if you call her nurse you must leave a message. Even though you leave the message in the morning it may be late afternoon or the next day before you get a call back. This only applies to calling her phone nurse. I always get someone when I call to make an appt.

I thought she as horrible to my child ! Very rude after she had a tragic accident .. I will be finding a different neuro .. I think she needs to find a new way to deal with children ..

She was wonderful with myself, hubby, and our son.She listened to us.

Did not touch child during visit. Diagnosis was incorrect. Very rude and disrespectful. Finally changed doctors and Khan refused to send childs records to new doctor. We finally just had some of the tests done again. Current doctor correctly diagnosed condition.
