Dr. Atul Kukar, MD

It is hard to imagine a doctor worse than Dr. Kukar. Apart from his multiple incorrect diagnoses, he was rude, petulant, uncooperative, and completely unwilling to answer questions about comments he had made himself. When I would quote things to him he had said, he would deny having said them or claim that I was confused. I was NOT confused, because I have an unusually good memory. He would also claim he had told me things he had not. Frankly, I think he was confused. To this day, I have wondered how he managed to get his MD. Worst of all, he had me on two medications that together caused a potentially fatal problem if taken for more than a month. He had prescribed only one of those medications himself, but he knew about the other one and never warned me of the consequences of taking both together. (The consequences were the possibility of death within days due to a rare condition caused mostly by taking the two together.) I was warned by a pharmacist about this danger. A… PHARMACIST, FOR GOD'S SAKE! Dr. Kukar's excuse would likely have been that he had in fact told me of the danger (when didn't he lie?) or that he would have told me in due time. But consider what might have happened had I cancelled the appointment or if he had become ill or had to go out of town or ... you get the point. Such irresponsibility (to put it extremely charitably) is simply unforgivable. There is a word for doctors like Dr. Kukar: charlatan.
