Dr. Auja Luvonne Mcdougale, MD

She explained my surgery and gave options. I explained what I wanted and woke with incision scars in the alternative places I opted out on. The day she explained this she was in another doctor's office and I could hear the other doctor talking about a patient's personal records (shut the door if you plan on speaking so loudly). Bottom line: the surgery did what they hoped to do but it left ne with scars that give me cramping for life. Another doctor there said they could go in to remove the scars but it could leave more and consequently more pain... are you serious?!? I did not file a lawsuit but should have. On check up visits she dismissed it when I said there was still bleeding and again, shame on me for thinking her discounting it and saying it's just the healing was the issue. She didn't even physically check! My regret is trusting her and not fiing a lawsuit so this doesn't happen to others. I wouldn't let her treat my cat, much less a human. The practice would never give a… straight answer as to why she's no longer there, but I can certainly guess....

So sad that Dr. McDougale is no longer part of the practice I go to! When I was pregnant last year I'm not going to lie, Dr. McDougale was one of my least favorite in the practice due to her relaxed demeanor when I was an anxious mom to be. I ended up having to be induced and she was the doctor scheduled for my delivery.. and while I wasnt happy to hear this, I truly couldnt have asked for a better doctor. She was amazing in every aspect in the hospital setting. I was so scared and ended up with an emergency c-section. She was absolutely wonderful with explaining everything to me, calming my fears, and making sure my son and I were safe. I thank god every day for my healthy perfect baby thanks to Dr. McDougale!! Not to mention she was so great during my postpartum care and helping me get the assistance I needed!

This doctor exhibited a very “millennial” attitude...I’ve delivered two children with this practice and every other physician here is a consummate professional however, I made an emergency appointment with serious medical concerns & she seemed to have no interest...scheduled a bunch of tests and sent me on my way only to be followed up with a phone call from a secretary.

every dr in the practice is so knowledgeable and caring except for her. I try NOT to see her but sometimes don't have a choice. When you ask her for a professional opinion she never can give a straight answer. She rushes through appointments and doesn't even care to know your name or anything. I do not know how she fits in with this practice. Dr. Amorin, Dr. Marin, and Dr. Flores are wonderful, knowledgeable, and patient. Dr. Mcdougale is the opposite and shows no genuine concern for her patients.

I absolutely LOVE all the doctors in this practice, but Dr. macDougale is my least favorite. She seems in a rush a lot of times, and doesn’t usually take the time to thoroughly explain things or listen as carefully as the other doctors. With every other doctor p, I’ve left my appointments feeling totally satisfied and reassured, but with Dr. MacDougale, I’m usually left feeling a bit unanswered or with some dissatisfaction.

I had a horrible experience in the emergency room at StonyBrook Hospital (Let's just say HIPPA would be furious and leave it at that). In my first meeting with Dr. Mcdougale, she took an extraordinary amount of time to review all my paperwork and asked thoughtful questions that showed she actively listened and understood my concerns. I felt very much at ease with her, like talking with a good friend. You can tell she genuinely cares about her work and that means a lot to me. I think she's amazing and I trust her plan of action for me with full confidence. Isn't that what a great doctor is about? On a side note, everyone else in the office was outstanding as well. When you're not feeling great and your mind is filled with so many concerns, you really appreciate that kindness, patience, and compassion so much.

This doctor is pacient, knowledgeable and caring! Absolutely the best care for my entire pregnancy!
