Dr. Azhar Muttalib, MD

I've been seeing Dr.. Muttalib for >10 yrs. His office always accommodates me when I call for last minute appt (same day). He's caring and kind. He goes to the hospital in afternoons, so it's am appts or after 5 a couple days a week, but that's just fine. He works hard and cares about his patients.

The office was dirty and had a foul stench (my first impression). Additionally, the lobby was overly crowded with no seating room left (many patient's were standing) and all to see the SAME DOCTOR at THE SAME TIME. After getting to me 45 minutes late, the nurse took my blood pressure and asked what I was there for. I told the nurse in detail and then 30 minutes later the doctor entered the room and asked what I was there for (don't you and the nurses talk to each other?). I proceeded to explain my problems and within 10 seconds I was rudely interrupted by the doctor. I made it clear that I was there for kidney and abdominal pain. after pressing on my stomach for 3-5 seconds, he gave me a prescription for heart burn and said "come back in a month if this doesn't help". It was utterly ridiculous considering I have been on that same prescription for heart burn since I was 17 years old which, he clearly did not realize. He never addressed the Kidney pain. I knew he was… trying to get out of there as fast as he could but, I needed the answers i paid to get, so I also told him I was feeling extremely sleepy and unusually tired. As he was walking out the door he said "it's probably related to the heart burn". This was just silly. I have had heart burn my entire life and never has it made me feel sleepy or unusually tired. I still have the Kidney pain and a useless prescription for a medication I have been on for years. We already pay extremely high monthly insurance premiums so to be having to go to the doctor 3 times per month just to get and answer that could take 15 minutes to give is a useless service. Needless to say, I threw the prescription in the trash and went hunting for another primary care physician. Dr. Muttalib is a guy who does not take the time to listen to the patient's problems. It's all about how much money he can bring in every hour to sustain his overhead. that for one thing is the most clear.

He's a great doctor and saved my dad's life! He was very prompt in joining forces with his other colleagues and specialists in getting him well again. He has become our family doctor and I could not ask for a better doctor.

Very caring bedside manner. Takes time to listen and follows up.

Very caring and knowledgable. Took time to listen to me and offered helpful suggestions. Really makes me feel like he cares, which I value.

This so-called doctor mis-diagnosed my father causing him a long, painful death. Stay away from this guy if you value your health.
