Dr. Barbara Hirsch, MD

I have Graves Disease and Hyperthyroid. I was bullied into getting an RAI from Dr Hirsch which Im glad I never followed thru with. This was a premature call on her account bc she wouldn’t give the new medicines I was on a chance to work which they did therefore there was no need for RAI. An RAI could have bad side effects which she denied. She told me there are no side effects. I spoke with many folks who had it done and regretted getting radiation therapy. I also have other autoimmune diseases and Im disabled so who knows how I would do with and RAI. Graves disease would just go on attack another organ, radiation won’t stop it. She had no interest into getting to the root cause which I thankfully have the expertise, wisdom and discipline of doing myself. 4 other doctors I saw agreed with me that her call was premature. The worse of it all was Dr Hirsch told me not to come to see her until I have the RAI done. This was unethical to say. It is also bad bed side manners. Guess what !!!… Im doing better on the meds and my holistic autoimmune protocol and diet. Im so glad I did not trust her and her nasty attitude. Im so sick of these tunnel vision doctors that can’t think outside the box and have no interest in getting to the root causes of disease.

Dr. Hirsch was my Dr. for 30 yrs I found her rude and uncaring She never was able to get my medications right or address my health problems. She kept me waiting for an hour at each appointment and never apologized, I would not recommend her.

Dr Hirsh does NOT want to recognize hashimotos symptoms was told to "don't give yourself that excuse " sent me to a nutritionist that recommends frozen dinners ... then proceeds to tell me what she eats to stay thin .... NOT going back ever - didn't even say have a good day just walked out of the office

Long wait in office. My friend died from complications of diabetes under this providers care. More interested in doing research. Saw my geriatric parent once and do him to find a geriatrician after doing expensive blood work. Was unable to help me with my diabetes.

Very busy office with limited time to see patients. Not adequate care for sick patients with diabetes.

Worse physician ever. Told me to see a geriatrician that she does not treat patients in their upper 80's.

Worse physician I have ever met. My friend died from complications from diabetes under her care. Received poor care from her as did my entire family. Very happy with my new endocrinologist who always has time for me.

Average wait time 20 minutes? I have never waited less than 45 minutes to an hour. Even if I had the first appointment, she wasn't on time. Been there for 8 years. I had my thyroid removed and have issues with my weight. My weight seems to be an issue with the doctor and she is often unkind about it. After 8 years she still has me coming in every 3 months.

Waited 2 hours. Dr was curt and cut me off- not letting me explain anything. Only ordered one test. I have fibro osteo arth and thyroid and she insulted my weight gain- she is egotistical and mean.

In the last 14 years that Dr. Hirsch has given me excellent care. Her diagnostic skills and guidance has been exemplary. Her communication is always direct with the best of guidance.
