Dr. Barbara Jeanenne Newman

Newman delivered my babies.and forced me to go way longer than need be with twins. 38 1/2 weeks. My issue isn't so much that... the staff is horrible. With a scheduled appointment it still takes an hour past appointment time to be seen. My biggest concern is Newman's bedside manner and her inability to respect your own choices for your body. I have severe endometriosis and she insists I take Lupron but it's not something I'm willing to take. After saying no to her and explained that wasn't an option she became angry, impatient and very rude towards me. She said I could find a new doctor and again tried to push the a Lurpon till I finally left. I will NEVER go back and would definitely not recommend her.

I waited 3 wks for an appt and just as I arrived, they canceled me, due to the dr running out to the ER for an OB patient. The best they could offer was 4 days later with a nurse practitioner. Sorry, Charlie, I just left work early, which means I had to work late yesterday, and I have a medical issue that needs to be addressed NOW. No backup coverage? You're working in the Dark Ages. I called another dr, who will see me TOMORROW. How's that for service, honeybuns?

Do not have Dr. Barbara Newman as you ob. The easiest way to sum up my experience with her is my husband almost called 911 from the delivery room. She handled the birth of my daughter terribly, and hurt me badly. Luckily my baby was fine. If you are seeking her services go to someone else.

unfortunately i had to find a new ob due to my gyno not delivering babies anymore and i wish i had read the reviews on Dr. Newman before i chose her. several times she had come into the room and started discussing another patients chart with me and i would be frightened because the other patients case would be more severe than mine! She also had taken me off pelvic rest at one point and then 2 months later tells me i can go off bed rest when she had already had taken me off the 2 months prior! she def doesn't have it together and is sloppy in the office! I really hope her strong point is in the delivery room because i'm to far along in my pregnancy to change Dr's.

I absolutely will NEVER go to another OBHYN!!! Dr. Newman is the best. She goes above and beyond for her patients, makes them feel at home, and she took extremely good care of me. She delievered my sister's 2 babies and I hope she will deliever mine in the future! Thanks Dr. Newman for Everything!

Dr. Newman cared for me and two of my family members for a couple of years. I never saw her for anything but a yearly woman exam, so I did not have many complaints. Then, one of my family members needed to see her for a more pressing matter, and she was rescheduled six times. The staff apologized, but my family member was done after that. My other family member began having issues as well, but always came back from her appointments with advice and information that worried the other women in my family. My mother eventually went to her and came home enraged at how unprofessional and unhelpful she was. All of these things made me nervous, so when I became pregnant, I setup an appointment with her to go over some basic questions. Unfortunately, this appointment was the first time I realized that Dr. Newman was not someone I should be going to. Most of the answers to my questions appeared to be lazy, opinionated, and not in the least bit factually based. The whole time I kept… feeling amazed that the unprofessional person in front of me had any kind of a doctor's degree. So after I left, I called my husband and said that I would never work with her again. And I haven't. Looking at the reviews on this website, I find it terrifying that this woman has actually delivered people's children. But, this is just my opinion.

She really cares about her patients and spends as much time with me as I need.

Dr. Newman has a very poor bedside manor; not to mention that I had to remind her of the medications she had given me before that did or did not work when she had my chart right in front of her. I didn't feel safe putting myself or my baby in her care and am no longer seeking her services. Also she seemed to spend the least amount of time possible with me and often canceled my appointments for other woman who were more important. Furthermore, there was only one person on her front desk staff with any personality at all, everyone else seemed half alive. I would not recommend Dr. Newman to anyone.
