Dr. Barbara Ann McGuirk, MD

I don't feel like I'm getting any support from Dr. McGuirk although she's a very nice person. Every time we meet she has mentioned only my diet over and over again, year after year, no options for fertility after 3 years! The thing is my diet isn't a problem. I'm eating over 70% plant based foods on a daily basis and fasting, which I've done per her suggestion since 2 years and one month ago. However it's assumedI have a poor diet. Never once has this Dr asked me what I'm eating. She can't even figure out why I'm bleeding and has asked me why. You would think that after giving vile after vile of blood, over the span of 3 years, she would have figured this out, coupled with my medical history. She's been telling me that I'm borderline diabetic, yet none of my blood sugar test have ever indicated that risk. I'm confused as to where she's getting her information. I often think that she doesn't know a thing about me, nor has she even looked at my labs, chart, or listened to me.

Didn't listen to my concerns about my treatment plan and ended up causing more anxiety and resulting health issues due to my body's negative reaction to her endometriosis treatment regimen. Everyone deserves a doctor who puts the patient and their concerns first and Dr. McGuirk has continued to fail me on this front.

She was an hour late for the first appointment of the day. She spent a lot of time with me going over my history and symptoms. She appears to know a lot about endometriosis. When you have this disease it is important to find a knowledgeable doctor. I hope it works out.

We didn’t feel comfortable with her visit and how some of her comment remark on how I couldn’t speak that much English she ask me question on how long I lived here in the us i reply severa years and her reaction was “ you lived here that long and you still don’t know English” that remark made me feel very uncomfortable and that’s why she get this review

The doctor is alright, but dealing with the patient coordinator, Teresa, is a nightmare. Beware you wait weeks for her to talk with the doctor and get back with you on major health issues!! Never been treated with such negligence. It's very unfortunate because the doctor does seem to know what she's doing, but staff is overworked and patients suffer!!!!

I became a patient of Reproductive Associates of Delaware as what I felt was a last ditch effort in my fertility journey. Meeting with Dr. McGuirk was a breath of fresh air! She guided me to a new diet and presented all my treatment options in a way I understood and was always patient with me and all my questions! I am now entering my 2nd trimester, which is something I never thought would happen. With her leadership and the AMAZING staff at RAD, I am forever grateful. Picking up the phone and make the initial appt. was the best call I ever made!
