Dr Lonner performed anterior scoliosis correction on my son two years ago. He is amazing compassionate and caring. Simply the best!!

I CANNOT believe this Dr. is still practicing. He is a not competent in the way he conducts himself - what sort of doctor (or person) would be so terrible and abandon a 12 year old scared girl the morning of her spinal fusion surgery for two consecutive days in a row with NO EXPLANTION. Well that is he did to me and my family. He’s a disgrace. She was so traumatized and we had to have her surgery performed by a DR on staff that met the day before. Don’t take the risk, there are plenty of excellent doctors in NYC -take my advice and find another Doctor.

He is an amazing surgeon, he truly cares and wants to help each patient. We are so thankful for him.

If I could give this man 0 stars I would, but this site does not allow that. I would never recommend Dr. Lonner or NYU Langone medical center. He performed spinal fusion with instrumentation on me when I was 15. This surgery was unsuccessful, leading to a second surgery. The second recollection surgery should have taken 5 days in the hospital, yet I was hospitalized for 30 days. Dr. Lonner tore my spinal sac, incorrectly inserted the screws into my bad, added an uneven amount of screws which cause my back to curve AFTER the surgery. The recovery was horrendous, due to the way he performed the reconstructive surgery, and left me with more pain than I started with. A few months after this unsuccessful surgery I felt a bulge sticking out of my lower back. It was one of the screws coming out of my spine that Dr.Lonner incorrectly inserted. I then had to see a new doctor because I did NOT trust Dr. Lonner, nor would I ever want him to treat me or those I know. I have been a patient at… Hospital for Special Surgery where I have received the best care by numerous pediatric surgeons, as they have helped me pave a way to a less painful world; no help to Dr. Lonner or the staff at NYU Langone Medical Center. No one should have to go through this type of pain and suffering, all from the hands of one “doctor”. Do not see him.

We were able to get in to see Dr. Lonner very quickly, which was nice. He seemed great and gave good information. We processed information over the phone and gave insurance information, etc... We get set up for tentative surgery date and the office manager/insurance person is a nightmare. I have never had such poor customer service in my life. She is making decisions for my sons care based on her laziness, ineptitude, not sure. I have heard so many excuses about how busy she is, and she never emails back or responds to voicemail. She needs to have the doctor or nurse for that matter, fill out one form and she won't do it, so now we can't move forward with the surgery. She is the office manager, so I don't have anyone higher to go to get help. You can't access the doctor directly. Just amazingly horrible.

I have had two surgeries performed by Dr. Loner. One lumbar disc over 10 yrs. ago. And reconstructive neck surgery 5 yrs ago. Both times I had excellent recoveries.

****Get a second opinion! Four months after his surgery on my daughter - I had to rush her to the Hospital for Special Surgery for emergency surgery to correct what he had done. It was a horrible experience and unfortunately my daughter will have residual nerve damage and pain as a result.
