He doesn’t care about his patients or their thoughts. He’s literally the worst doctor I’ve ever encountered.

I grew up with a painful gastrointestinal disease that makes it very difficult to function without some pain relief. I had refused pain medication until my mid twenties when my disease worsened. I was not aware that Basil had labeled me drug seeking until I was further profiled at an emergency room visit. His unacceptable misdiagnosis has caused me further pain and suffering. One of the cruelest moments I ever experienced in health care was him asking me if I was "hearing voices" when I was rocking in pain because of my intestines no longer responding to steroidal therapy and profusely bleeding. I ended up needing surgery to remove multiple organs because I was precancerous WEEKS after leaving his practice. If you have a conscience you will find a different career, Basil.

Love this Dr. He has saved my Husband numerous times! Best Dr. in Coos Bay. We moved to another state and the health Care is awful. Sure miss him! He was my Husband's Dr for 12 plus yrs.

I have been a patient of Dr Pittenger for 15 years. He has been awesome. I have always been treated with the utmost respect. He listens to my description of my issues and together we come up with solutions that work for me. His care has increased my health to the good. Im 69 years old and know ww will continue to work together for years to come

He needs to sharpen his "people" skills, and learn how to communicate without being condescending.

Everything you would want in a doctor. He will get the job done with confidence and intelligence. Very trust worthy and competent. I would feel comfortable leaving any member of my family in his hands. He just needs to work on his people skills with communication and conversations. I have accepted this problem based on the health of my family. Pick your battles.
