Dr. Benjamin Morris Calef, MD

I have a been a patient of Dr. Calef for a few years now. He has been exceptionally understanding and knowledgeable. His bed side manor is the key as well as attention to details. Very happy to him looking after my health.

Dr Calef has been my PCP for a little over two years. I am very happy to have him watching over my health care. I find his office to be very efficient, prompt return calls, referrals and setting up appointments. Dr Calef has an excellent demeanor putting you at ease while he does his job. Couldn’t be happier.

Dr Calef has been my doctor sense Dr kidd left. And I yet to meet him. always pushes me off to the nurse practitioner.

I’ve been a patient of Dr. Ben Calef ever since he started at Dutton Family Care. His Father, Dr. David Calef, was my doctor prior to Ben joining the practice. Ben had big shoes to fill in my mind. Over the years Dr. Ben has consistently exceeded those expectations at every turn. I have many medical issues that can cause me great anxiety, but Dr. Ben has proven time and time again he will go above and beyond to ensure all of my issues are treated effectively and my concerns addressed thoroughly. He goes the extra mile, where even specialist I’ve had in the past would not. My entire family sees Dr. Ben, and I would not entrust their health to anyone else. He is relatable, extremely knowledgeable, actually listens to his patients and he cares. Those are the most important traits a doctor can have.

I recently moved to Wakefield from out of state and needed a new doctor. I am so happy to have found Dr. Ben. I saw him earlier this week for my first appointment and he was very attentive. It's been a little while since I saw a doctor so I had a couple issues I wanted to talk about. Dr. Ben listened to me and came up with a plan to help resolve these issues. He was very good at explaining everything to me to make sure I knew what I needed to do next. The girl at the front desk was also really nice and helped me get my referral all set and also helped schedule my next follow up appointment. If you need a new doctor I would highly recommend Dr. Ben!

Since Dr. Ben Calef took over the practice from his father, the quality of patient care has gone way downhill from trying to get through on the phone to making appointments and getting calls returned or prescriptions refilled. He lacks bedside manner and is very unprofessional (swears a lot). The Melrose location was closed without any warning. My family has been going to this practice for over 30 years but will now be going elsewhere because of the poor quality of care since Dr. Ben took over.

There’s really not much else to say. I’ve only gone to Dr. Ben for a short while but he’s actually the only doctor I’ve ever had where I actually look forward to going. He actually genuinely cares about his patients, listens, and is very friendly and outgoing. He treats his patients and staff with respect. I’ve never had a long wait.
