than usual, maybe 15 minutes or so and then got called back to the appointment room. By 9:40, the doctor still hadn't been in to see me. I went up to the desk and asked how much longer the wait will be, and was told he was coming to me next. When he comes in, Dr. Petty proceeds to admonish me because he was told that I checked in late, and that they have to see the people that arrive on time first. I asked him who informed him that I arrived late, and he says the reception desk. I explain that this was incorrect, that I was on time, and that no one told me at check-in that my arrival was late. If you as a facility or going to punitively push back the care of your patients because of a real or perceived lateness by that patient, that needs to be communicated. When I came out of my appointment, I asked to speak with the office manager. I confirmed with her that the clock on their wall was correct. She states that the systems shows that they started check-in at 8:46 but didn't complete it… until 8:52. She says technically late is 15 minutes after the appointment time and they should not have identified me as being late. In addition, she couldn't explain why it took them 7 minutes to check me in when they asked me 60 seconds worth of questions. They need to do a better job of communicating with their patients, doing check ins and having their doctor ls understand the importance of cordiality.
