He misdiagnosed our child in 1989. Contributing to her death. When other doctors showed concern he ignored them. My 10 year old daughter Nicole died at John Hopskins Oct 22 1989 due to his incompetence. He later conveniently lost her file not documenting our case.... we still remember him with 'great pain' after all these years Sept 5 2024... you can't hide from our memories ... I saw dr. Lavenstein when I was a baby. I would send everyone I know his way.

Hopeless, irresponsible doctor. Incorrect diagnosis. Unprofessional conduct! He will rarely be available to talk to you. Your child is just another patient to him.

Doctor Lavenstein accepts way too many patients and forgets about his existing patients. He forgets the diagnosis and is always on his defensive to explain his forgetfulness. He is very difficult to get hold of. Since he shows up as one of the pediatric neurologist in the area on first search, may people end up with him. There are many other good doctors in the same practice.

Dr. Lavenstein is presently treating my child. In the last 3 years we have seen many doctors and I have to say that Dr. Lavenstein is the best doctor my child has seen so far. He is courteous, responds to e-mails and phone calls, treats patients with respect. Although we still do not have a diagnosis for our child we are very pleased to have him as our doctor.

Spent enough time with us, reviewed all documents that we brought with us, including MRI. Also was able to answer any questions I had about the diagnosis. We very courteous and treated us as people first, patients second. I would recommend him .

I have and will continue to highly recommend him.

Dr. Lavenstein went out of his way to help my daughter. Called me at home in the evening to discuss test results, made an effort to move me up in his appt schedule and spent time answering all of my questions. Is one of the best ped neurologists in the DC area.

I completely disagreed with the previous writer. Dr. Lavenstein was very professional and took the time to explain my 15 y/o son's condition to my wife and I, and, equally important, him. He patiently answered every question in detail. His recommendations included medication, follow up appointments, and a schedule for additional testing. We left feeling very informed, although more anxious than before.

Very poor and did not spend enough time. Just wanted money and left.
