Dr. Bennett Irving Machanic, MD

After years of being ignored and being told my symptoms were psychological, muscoskeletal or I was faking; I was referred to Dr. Machanic. By that time, I’d given up and even started seeing a psychologist. He gave me my diagnosis's and validated me by stating ‘ there’s a good reason for your pain. You’re going to need surgery or lead a very painful life’. The issue was finding a doctor to treat me. I went around again and had the much needed surgery 3 years after his diagnosis! Unfortunately, my cord is impaired and surgery cane a little too late. I’m back in more care and to this date Dr. Machanics EMG carries a lot of weight. I’ve had several EMG’s since and not one neurologist has followed any of the same protocols or taken the measures needed for an appropriate diagnosis as Dr. Machanic has. Because if the results , I continued to seek the help that I needed.

Between job changes and insurance changes I was no longer able to see my old Neurologist and opted to see Dr. Mechanic as he was the doctor who diagnosed me in the first place. I thought I was in luck that I could see him once again but unfortunately between the doctor forgetting he put me on medication to at a time when I was having a relapse from Multiple Sclerosis and it was causing an unbearable amount of pain and getting refused because I didn't have an appointment and the incompetent office staff there who refuse to do their jobs and laugh at their mistakes that cost patients time and money I continue my search to find a good neurologist. - Don't waste your time and money.

I was told an visit would cost $180, but on leaving I was charged $350. When I told them of the discrepancy between the original quotation and the later amount, I was basically told "too bad, so sad." It was interesting to go to a medical doctor and not have even my blood pressure checked, and then the neurology "exam" consisted of checking a few reflexes. I suppose to a super-specialist blood pressure is irrelevant. (?) MY

I have seen three neurologists to date and none were as thorough as Dr. Machanic. He performed an EMG that helped point me in the right direction for care. If it were not for his findings I believe my symptoms would have continued to be ignored. I have since had a much needed spine surgery. His EMG has been reviewed by several professionals who have actually complimented the accuracy of his findings. I am very fortunate to have been examined by this doctor.

Very knowledgeable and Intelligent. This doctor is one of the top neurologist in Colorado. Dr. Machanic is the best at what he does.

Through thick and thin he's there for me. I have MS.

Old school doctor that spends the time with you and thoroughly explains everything he is doing and why. Great doctor!

Rating Dr. Mechanic on his knowledge and excellent diagnostic skills, he is the best. Worth tolerating some tardiness for a doctor that will work for you.

I have been a patient of Dr. Machanic's for over 5 years now. He is a wonderful doctor who doesn't let the pharmaceutical companies influence his decisions regarding treatment options, truly a rare thing these days. His vast knowledge of upcoming and new treatments is also a valuable as an MS patient. He is an upfront and no bull kind of doctor, he will always tell you how it is and won't sugar coat things. For all the people who did not believe he spent enough time with them, I have to say did you actually ask for more time? Did you ask questions? Dr. Machanic will be brief with you if you do not ask questions. As a patient, you must be your own best advocate. Speak up and ask him questions! He always spends time with me and answers my questions thoroughly if I have any. Overall, he is a wonderful neurologist. One I would highly recommend to others! I live more than an hour away and still drive all the way down there, just because he's that good!
