Dr. Benoy Varkey Benny, MD

This guy talks like he's trying to convince HIMSELF of his own treatments, and he talks way too fast, as if he's in too big of a hurry to be somewhere else. I feel like when I talked to him he wasn't listening, as if he was just waiting for me to stop so he could continue his babble. I had such a distrustful feeling towards him the moment I met him...I will definitely be seeking my care elsewhere. He kept trying to push the epidural steroid injections on me, which I'm far from convinced of their effectiveness. Sounds like a money making scheme to me....especially when he said he wanted to do them only at surgery centers he goes to, that were NOT convenient for me at all. I know he goes to other hospitals, but he didn't want to do the procedures there...I don't trust that at all. Since my visit, I've read other reviews that just confirm my gut feeling. His staff is incredibly helpful and kind. Melissa took the time to answer a few questions for me, and actually SLOWED DOWN when she… spoke to me, and asked if there was anything else she could help with. Looks like they're running their butts off, while Benny tends to his own concerns. I agree with someone else's review that he certainly has a "God complex". He's very demeaning when he speaks to you and doesn't make good eye contact. Another suggestion, if he were to read this...PUT YOUR PHONE ON SILENCE WHEN YOU'RE WITH YOUR PATIENTS!! Or better yet, don't even have it on you while you're examining patients. You should be focused on us, not text messages and emails!!!

I pulled something in my neck doing yoga and it pinched a nerve that went straight down my right arm. Then a few days later randomly I sneezed and threw out my lower back pinching a nerve down my left leg. He fixed me and I haven't been back to see him in 4 or 5 years. He gave me injections and did my back first so I could walk and then my neck so I could use my right arm again. Thank you Dr. Benny!

All the office personnel was extremely helpful and pleasant. The PA was excellent, knowledgeable, caring, and informative. Very easy to work with. The visit was a pleasant experience.

I had a prp injection for persistent pain in my tailbone. I have always been treated very well in Dr. Benny's office, and was very pleased with the staff at Elite just as I have been at Methodist Willowbrook. I am slowly getting better, I think. I still cannot sit, but Dr. Benny told me it may take several weeks. I feel pretty good standing or laying. Sometimes it is uncomfortable if I am lying on my back. The compound helps. Each day seems better. If I fail to get better, it is certainly not because Dr. Benny has not done everything he can.

This was a follow up to an injection done by Dr. Benny approximately 1 month prior. I did get significant relief and am scheduled tomorrow Nov. 9th to try a similar injection in my right hip. I know the injection is a temporary fix, but I have complete confidence in Dr. Benny - so glad I found Dr. Mark Adickes who sent me to Dr. Benny - I travel from South Louisiana for treatment.

Always receive the best care from the dr. and staff at The Spine & Sports Center. I have had many procedures all have been at the Elite location on Travis St.and I feel very comfortable there and I feel I receive the best care from their staff and from Dr. Benny and his staff.

I had a very pleasant experience. The office staff is very professional and friendly, as well as expedient. Dr. Benoy Benny is also very professional and caring as he explains the options of treatments very clearly.

I was put in a room early and as soon as i was put in uniform, the Dr. came in and diagnosed my problem. He had me do some physical movements and it helped my back feel a little better immediately.

There was no way I could have completed working this season without your help. I like the fact you put the truth first . How I know where I stand and how I can be on my way to getting better.
