Dr Cordoba's patience and knowledge have given me a life that I love living. I started working with Dr Cordoba in 2005 and continue checking in with him to this day. I have Bipolar I. He was quick to identify my first major manic episode in 2008. He had an effective game plan and worked daily with my Dad to help keep me on the right doses, and how to keep me out of trouble during that time. Cordoba helped get my SSDI Disability case approved in 2011, which has a huge positive impact and made my life manageable. He has been understanding and respectful of my Eating Disorder recovery, and has worked well within my recovery team. He has also helped me with treating my Narcolepsy. I appreciate that Dr Cordoba prescribes medication in slow increments and tries to find the lowest effective doses. I have been stable and happy for about 7 years now. I still have occasional anxiety episodes, and life still happens, but I am able to manage it and I look forward to each day. I am truly… grateful Dr Cordoba. thank you!!

Never have I been disappointed in all the time I’ve been seeing him. Not only does he make feel good about myself but we laugh. He is encouraging and npmany times has given me solutions to problems without spending hours hour to figure things out for myself. He is the upmost professional, prompt, caring and is always genuinely glad to see me. Dr. Cordoba makes me feel great. He got my cocktail of meds just perfect and each rime wants to know how they’re working. He adjusts them as needed. Dr. Cordoba was referred to me because I was contemplating suicide. He saved my life. He knew rights away what my diagnosis was but didn’t automatically star giving me meds. We worked through it all together. I feel no matter when I need him he is available. He is there for me. Honestly, I’ve been to so many psychologists and psychiatrists. They have never helped me, most have the pop gimmicks or the ‘newest’ idea of what works. I’m not a guinea pig for him. He knows his stuff by kniwing the… patient. I get so much accomplished in the time I’m there that I feel like I’ve been there longer than I have. I don’t like our sessions to end. As an aside...since seeing him I’ve lost over 100 pounds. He doesn’t believe in the one-size-fits all. He know me. I will never stop seeing him. I’ve never had a long wait. No matter what his cost, I’d pay more he is so worth it. Remember he saved my life. Do yourself a favor and don’t go to anyone else..

I made the choice to try Dr. Cordoba in the fall of last year because I desperately needed help. My situation was bad enough that I thought spending $600 on a one-hour appointment might save my life. It took me months to get in to see him for the first time, but when I finally did, I found the first visit encouraging. Dr. Cordoba scheduled my second visit incorrectly. He offers 30-minute sessions for medication management for $195, and 1-hour talk therapy sessions for $300. I don’t believe in 30-minute “med-management” sessions, so I booked an hour session. He ended our appointment after 30 minutes. He apologized and said we’d do an hour the next time. I had to reschedule our third appointment, so I called ahead of time to make the change. I left a voicemail for his receptionist and asked for a call back; I never received a response. I left another voicemail a week later to schedule an appointment and request a prescription refill. The prescription was refilled but I didn’t… receive a call back to reschedule. Being as desperate as I was, it was easy to feel discouraged by the lack of response from Dr. Cordoba and his receptionist. I decided that I would continue to take the medication he had prescribed me until I heard back from them. 9 months went by, and I finally received a voicemail from his receptionist telling me that I needed to come in for an appointment because they hadn’t seen me for a while. I called to schedule an appointment first thing Monday. I didn’t receive a response. I called to follow up Tuesday afternoon and left another voicemail. his receptionist finally called me later that evening and told me that I had to wait for Dr. Cordoba to call me back in the next couple of days. By Friday, I had not heard from him. After leaving two more voicemails, my prescription was refilled but I didn’t receive a call back. Seeking help from Dr. Cordoba was the last line of defense for me. It took everything I had to try to seek that help while I was in such a dire state. The lack of response I got from him was enough to turn me away. He did not help me, and I feel that the repeated communication problems I had with him are irresponsible when dealing with people who may be in a desperate situation, as I was.

I have been a patient of Dr. Cordoba since 1998. He is sensitive to my medical conditions, he is an excellent active listener and he has prescribed several medications that help to control my conditions. I have been diagnosed with PTSD, general anxiety disorder, chronic depression and bi-polar disorder. I trust his medical advice and I wish everyone could see him

Dr. Cordoba has been my psychiatrist for several years now. I wouldn't trust my care to anyone else. He's kind, compassionate and warm. He's also intelligent and understands medication. He asks pointed questions and you never feel like he's not listening to you. I think he's the best in Austin.

Dr. Cordoba has treated me many years for major depression. He has never waivered in the highest quality treatment. Doctor is an empathic and very real human being who has the expertise to gently tease out symptoms, and appropriate treatment methodologies. There was an occasion when I called him from Los Angeles when I was experiencing a severe panic attack; I was lost, became fearful and anxious that I could not find my way back to the location I was staying. Doctor stayed with me on the phone gently guiding me toward a safe place where I could stop, work through the anxiety attack, and seek help finding my way. I am forever grateful. Over time my medications have been so finely balanced that I no longer fear a roller coaster of emotions. I am able to think clearly, focus, and face and resolve problems. Doctor Cordoba has treated me in an holistic manner that has involved mind, body, and spiritual awareness. I now have so many "tools" in my life-learning toolkit that I would never… have had otherwise. Now I have lived in Illinois for three years. During these years I continue my relationship with Doctor via phone appointments. Because he knows me so well, and I have so much trust in him we can easily discuss successes and challenges. Working with a patient long-distance is a fine art and Doctor is gifted in this capacity as well as face-to-face appointments. He has never failed to respond when I have called. I have faced challenges that I thought I could never overcome, but due to his care and the strategies he's provided in addition to the medication I am much stronger and able to move on in life with more confidence. Dr. Cordoba is the most insightful & caring psychiatrist I've ever met - and is certainly the best I've ever seen, as a patient. I've been his patient for about 15 yrs. now & can report increased efficiency of appt. & med. mgmt., never sacrificing quality care. He listens - attentively - and asks intelligent, probing questions that get at the heart of my concerns. He engages me in responsible decision-making about my condition & treatment, is knowledgeable about multiple ways to treat conditions - and, maybe most important, admits when he doesn't know: In those (very limited) cases, he's quick to search for information - and suggests ways I can find out more, too. More than any doctor I've had, he takes the time to get a sense of my overall well-being, lifestyle & apparently unrelated issues/ challenges - all of which form his treatment approach. Dr. Cordoba is an unusually excellent doc!
