In the past 2 years I have been on 4 different blood pressure meds. When I've called I speak with a nurse and instead of being scheduled to see the Doctor, I see the nurse. This person who is probably a med tech and not even a nurse acted very annoyed that I was even there and wasn't empathic about my complaints at all. I felt like it was my fault for having side effects. I was prescribed a med to offset the side effects of a diuretic. I refuse to take a pill for the side effects of a pill. Ridiculous! Also if you email them, don't expect a response back for a couple of days. Once it took a week. The Optum Medical Records is no better returning calls. I was trying to transfer to a new doctor and couldn't get them to call back all week, 3 calls, until I reached their customer experience to complain. So glad I'm done with these people!!

Dr S diagnosed Asthma (actually caused by a medicine), and prescribed several meds that raised my BP over 200. Then pawned me off on her nurse. My cardiologist lowered my heart med and I now have no asthmatic symptons. DO NOT RECOMMEND this doctor.

She is not a hands on Dr., she refers you to someone else

Sands refused to give refill my bp meds for 3 days. My bp at her insisted weekly bp checks were over 200 and she would not adjust my meds or give me a cardiologist referral. I called today and told them it waa 196/98 and was told to go to ER. I'm paying for insurance for this nitwit to tell me to go to ER? She's screwed medicare enough already!!

I saw Dr. Sands while I was having extreme pain during my period. I had gone to the emergency room because it was so bad. I followed up with Dr. Sands the next day to get a referral to the ob/gyn. She said, "Ive seen people doubled over in pain. I don't write referrals for cramps." I got to an ob/gyn without her referral and had a large cyst that needed to be drained. I went in to have the procedure and it was found that I had Stage IV endometriosis. I was in surgery for six hours and had an ovary and tube removed. Dr. Sands should NOT be practicing anywhere.

I am very satisfied with my treatment here. Dr. Sands is everything you would want in a PCP and her staff is terrific. I can usually get into the office the same day I call, and phone calls are always promptly returned by a nurse.

Wouldn't go any where else

I would have put a half a star, but it wouldn't let me. Dr. Sands is the typical person of color that hates what she sees in the mirror, and it manifests itself on how she treats people that look like her. I don't know if she has had some traumatic event, but there is some underlying cause. I remember vividly when a respiratory therapist was taking care of one of my family members, she wanted to know the progress. The therapist was non-white;she didn't want to even talk to him, she went right over to the white therapist, who wasn't even familiar with the patient. If this is an indication of how she feels about non-white people, then I don't want her taking care of me, or my family!!!!!!

Personal, professional and thorough. What you hope for in a doctor. She takes her time, listens attentively and applies excellent analytical skills to achieve an accurate and thorough evaluation.
