Dr. Beth Carrie Horowitz, MD

Dr. Horowitz is everything that the others who reviewed her positively says: attentive, good diagnostician, thorough. However, I don't give such high marks to the overall convenience of the office, though her physician's assistant, Sean, is fabulous. When I need a prescription refill for a drug I take that must be renewed every month, they take several days to respond to a fax from CVS. When I try to call for an appointment, I find that, even though the website says the hours are 8 - 5, I can't get anyone on the phone at 4:30. Haven't done much better at the middle of the day either. And the recorded message that says, if it's not an emergency, call back during office hours provides no clue as to what the hours might be. It's the 21st Century -- about time to make better use of email or a scheduling program so that appointments could be set up on-line, and basic questions, requests for refills, etc. done that way as well.

I haven't been a patient of Dr. Horowitz' since I left the DC area in 2003, but even in the vaunted UNC health care system, I have never found an internist as good, thorough, adept, tuned-in, knowledgeable, etc. etc. etc. as she is. I miss her dearly and have often considered traveling to DC for care. She is truly a top doc!!

I have never had a doctor who took this much time to listen and recommend action to resolve the problem

Dr. Horowitz is the best doctor i;ve ever seen. She is thorough, gives plenty of time, caring, follows up on everything, including a lengthy personal report following the exam. She is always accessible. Most important, she spends alot of time finding out everything going on personally with the patient that may be relevant to a health concern. I can't say enough great things about her. The office is run extremely well, too.

Excellent doctor who has always diagnosed my problems correctly. Very caring. When I had appendicitis she called the hospital and had a surgical team waiting for me. Would recommend her highly.

Great! Hard to get into her practice, but totally worth it.

This doctor did not listen to my complaints and gave me a misdiagnosis. Thankfully, I did not take her advice and went elsewhere. DO NOT GO TO THIS WOMAN.
