Dr. Beth Ann Sum, MD

Dr Sum has been my gynecologist for about 10 years. She always shows genuine concern and goes beyond my expectations, especially in terms of preventative medicine. She studies my medical history carefully, reviews any changes, and makes sound recommendations that I can trust.

Dr. Sum is amazing. I’ve been seeing her for several years. She’s kind and compassionate and covers all aspects of the appointment thoroughly. She is straightforward and honest in her opinions. She really cares about her patients.

My OB appointment with Dr. Sum felt rushed and lasted about 5 minutes total. It may have been just an off day as I do see other positive reviews for Dr. Sum. However in my experience, the bed side manner could have been improved and my questions could have been answered without sounding condescending and dismissive.

Dr. Sum is very smart. She knew exactly what was wrong when I was experiencing pain mid pregnancy before it got so bad I went to the emergency room anyway. She is no fuss and to the point but has no problem listening to my concerns and addressing them. She is also gentle enough during exams. I am confident in her opinions about my healthcare. When you have a pregnancy, you do get to meet all the doctors in rotation so you are comfortable with who is on call when labor starts. I delivered 2 children with this group and couldn't be happier to have done so. They were all great! But I return to Dr. Sum for my regular check ups.

I’ve been seeing Dr Sum for 26 years. She’s the best at making me feel comfortable and she is open to discussing options and issues without being too clinical about it all.
