Dr. Betsy Lantner, MD

Almost 3 months ago, I visited Dr. Lantner and she seemed like a nice doctor. We followed this visit with a telemed phone call a week later. Dr. Lantner was suppose to call me back after this call and she didn't. I haven't been able to get in touch with her or her staff in over 3 months! I left messages with her staff and recorded phone messages with BOTH of her Brooklyn offices! In my last message, I said that if they don't respond I will no longer be using this doctor. Dr. Lantner may be a good doctor, but her staff is giving her a bad reputation! I'm now looking for a new doctor.

I have been going to Dr. Lantner since I was 17. 26 years and she and her office have always helped me with everything I have gone through. I have recommended to so many of my friends and my mom also went to her too.

Dr. Lantner has been our family OBGYN for the past 28 years. She delivered my nieces and nephews (oldest being 27) and my children. Dr. Lantner has an amazing personality and has a way of making you feel comfortable and at ease, regardless of the situation. Both of my pregnancies were high risk but I knew I was in good hands.

I have been searching for a great GYN since mine retired. After trying several with no luck replacing the confidence and comfort I felt with my original GYN, I was so happy to discover Dr. Lantner ! The office wait is long but she is worth the wait. She is caring, comforting, efficient and just plain pleasant to be with in an unpleasant position! She takes the time needed to discuss and explain everything. This is what causes the delay in the office but I appreciate her taking time to help me understand and, if I am fair, I cannot begrudge anyone else that time as well. I would recommend her to everyone !

I was in NYU diagnosed with a brain cancer in 2003. I called her,she called back and asked for the name of it,did some research and called me back and calmed me down.At every appointment she asks how that is. Never forgets.

I mesmt to write this a long time ago, but she provided such a great delivery experience , so encouraging and positive . I would definitely deliver again with her!

Went today for a sonogram and an appointment with Dr. Lantner. When I made the appointment they told me to come early for sonogram. I came early. They took me for sonogram then I waited in waiting room for 4 hours each time they told me I had a lot of people in front of me. Finally they took me she came in and 5 minutes later I was out . Terrible place. Never go back.

I have been Dr Lantner's patient now for four years. I have only good things to say about her. She is caring and thorough doctor. She delivered my two babies, and it was the best experience I had! she remained patient even though it took a really long time! When my water broke by my first baby, I went to Maimonides hospital, the staff there was rude nobody paid attention to me and they let me wait for over ten hours without giving me a room! When Dr Lantner walked into the hospital and saw what was going on she offered to drive me to Northshore with her own car!! The waiting time in her office is no different than any other ob/gyn office, although if you come in the afternoon or last appointment you can get in faster. The staff are nice, they always returned my phone calls when I had an emergency and were patient when I needed to reschedule appointments.

The office is always packed, never has any available appointments, you have to wait 4-6 weeks to see a doctor, the waiting time takes forever especially for a pregnant women, it takes 2-3 hours until you're out of there, staff is rude, had a horrible experience in which none of the doctors from this group showed up to my delivery on a friday/saturday. i was in the hospital for over 24 hours and no one came..... i called their office emergency line twice and no one called me back would never go back again. this was my first pregnancy and i would expect more attention. if you ever not feel good during pregnancy they never have any appointments that are same day. very irresponsible.

Dr. Lantner is a very busy doctor. That says something. She has a lot of patients which makes it very difficult to make an appointment within a reasonable amount of time. BUT, for the many years I have gone to her, the waiting room is packed and EVERYONE waits patiently because they know that she is a good and thorough doctor. Easy to talk to. She will answer any and every question you throw at her. The BIG issue is her staff. From double booking appointments :-( creating a longer waiting time. EVERY time I have seen her, I had to wait an average of 3 hours. After making an appointment 1 1/2 months ago and waiting over 3 hours, the staff says I never had an appointment. ??? Dr. Lantner NEEDS a competent staff. From the women answering the phone, making appointments and her assistants who do the preliminary check-up before Dr. Lantner checks you out. I hope that someone sees this review and tells Dr Lantner that her staff really needs to shape up. If you don’t mind waiting, see her. If… not, good luck, good doctors are hard to come by.
