Dr Boback Berookhim

ARROGANT AND DISMISSIVE I had a referral appointment to see Dr. Berookhim at Lennox Hill Urology to discuss ED issues I have and to get his second opinion on some possible causes (venous leak) that other specialists had suggested. I prefaced to his PA that I had gone down several rabbit holes of research but was eager for a trained expert opinion. His PA was receptive and had a very lovely disposition. Dr. Berookhim however was hostile and arrogant from the moment he entered the room. His tone was curt and I was immediatly made to feel totally misinformed and wasting his time. Without asking much history from h told me I had one option and presented it rudely in a "take it or leave it" manner. The conversation was so unpleasant that midway I said to him I felt disrespected and that I was merely seeking his thorough professional explanation. He made no effort to course correct or apologize and doubled down in his aggressiveness.

WARNING! I went to this doctor for help with infertility. He told me about a surgery he could perform called a varicocelectomy. I had never heard of this surgery before but he said that it could help. I trusted him and went ahead with the surgery. Biggest mistake of my life!!! I've since suffered from excruciating nerve pain that won't go away, which I never had before the surgery, and have had to get several nerve block injections for the pain. The pain is unrelenting and burning in nature. I've also had to visit the ER twice and have seen multiple specialists since the surgery due to the pain. Other doctors I checked with afterwards told me that pain from this type of procedure shouldn’t happen very often, if at all. They also told me that the probability of success was actually much lower than what he had quoted me before the surgery. When I asked for my imaging, they were reluctant to give me my images taken prior to the surgery. I would not perform any surgeries with this man.… There are much better doctors out there who will tell it the way it actually is, and not try to sell you on a surgery that you don’t actually need!

I came to see him about a very sensitive subject. I was having trouble in my marriage because of my ED issues. My wife came in with me as a show of support. From that day, things went from bad to worse as I noticed her energy changed when he walked into the room After 2 weeks, I would hear chant the words Dodool tala in her sleep. I had no idea what that meant for the longest time. My care was dragged out far longer than it should and my wife drifted from our relationship even farther after that. I eventually found out she was having a tawdry affair with him. This doctor preyed on my insecurities and vulnerabilities to satisfy himself. This doctor is the most unprofessional doctor I have ever worked with!

I was recently hospitalized unexpectedly for a kidney stone which did require a surgical procedure by Dr Berookhim and all went well. I have since been seen as an outpatient and very pleased with the level of care, kindness , focus and attention shown to me.

My husband went into the emergency room with a kidney stone. Was released and became the patient of Dr. Berookhim. We ended up back in emergency and never experienced such great care.. The bed side manner!!

Since his office accepts all insurances, any low ratings that may be posted here are from the low class patients he warmly receives.

we were with Dr Berookhim over a number of months three years ago. His care and consideration and eagerness to help us, parred his excellence in his field. Thank you Dr Berookhim.

This man will not only talk to you but will hear what you have to say , very good out come on my kidney stone surgery ,next will be my prostate surgery hope for the very best out come.

Doctor is super nice and very helpful. He took time to explain everything to me

Berookhim is clearly knowledgeable and very experienced. However, I found him to be rude, inconsiderate, abrupt, and disrespectful. Apparently, some doctors count the minutes, while others, the seconds.
