Dr. Bonnie Fitleberg, MD

My husband had an appointment last week and waited so long that they asked him to reschedule. Today he had a 9:15 am appointment. He arrived 15 minutes ahead of time as they asked and waited over two hours to see the doctor. Ridiculous!

Too much confusion at that office. No one ever really knows what is going on. Tried to treat me for another patients condition. Confusion over lab tests. I think I actually saw the Dr 2x out of all my visits.

Don't be in a hurry when you see her--she will make you wait a long time and it is hard to get an appointment with her. She listens and takes the time to discuss things with you, but is sometimes 'tone deaf' to monetary and insurance needs. She recently prescribed a $3000.00 treatment for something that she also said was optional to treat. I had to call back to see if there was something that was generic and cheaper, but it took a lot of time and effort to accomplish this additional step. I will probably continue to see her because her office is in a convenient location until I find a better option.

I had seen her when she was in practice at Kaiser, expected the same treatment when she moved to private practice. Loved her at Kaiser am not happy at all with Private Practice. You cannot talk to her when you call in, you have to talk with her nurse who is always in a hurry and doesn't listen to what you are saying and doesn't bother asking for clarification. I had a persistent illness for 4+ months and saw her as well as Urgent care multiple times. Ended up going to the ER when I couldn't breathe, she kept telling me my problem was my weight, which didn't turn out to be the case. I am currently working with a Pulmonary doctor determine what is in my right lung, it was found via an xray and CT Scan in the hospital, ended up staying 2 days in the hospital to get my breathing problem under control. Could have saved months of being sick and money going to doctors, hope that the time wasted doesn't create a long term treatment for me. Also, am not impressed with the PA in the… office, they always try to slough you off to see her. It is really sad that someone I loved at Kaiser is so bad now. I would not go to the Urbana office of FPCA

This doctor failed to establish a good credibility as a doctor to a new parent. Made me wait a long time. Didn't apologise, talked abt things that werent relavent . Aftet seeing her, felt like even a sweeper can be a better doctor than her. Why waste money on her. Not knowledgeable not an expert. Did not feel good walking out after seeing this doctor Bonnie Fitleberg.

I had a persistent cold and developed bad Pharyngitis and needed to see this doctor. She made me wait for 40 minutes and then she was in a super hurry, I am breastfeeding my younger one and had a question whether the antibiotic and other medication would be ok to take. She literally answered those while standing between the hallway and the room door in which she saw me for less than 5 minutes. Pathetic. Never spending a dime on this doctor who does not resperct her patients.

Dr. Fitleberg cannot necessarily be characterized as a practitioner of traditional medicine, and one should know this up front before their first appointment. The practice in Urbana is a mix of holistic and traditional medicine. This review is not meant to categorize Dr. Fitleberg as a good or bad doctor. It is just my own personal experience from being a former patient. She does take time in her evaluation and listens to you, but personally I did not feel I was gaining any benefit from going there. I questioned the value of her way of treatment (in my case) which was in my opinion an overly simplistic approach. It does not seem right for the health care insurance companies to have to pay a medical practice for dishing out common sense advice, that patients should already know and probably have tried. When you sense something is not right and you don't feel 100% well, this can be frustrating and a waste of time in your efforts to pin down the cause. If you are the type of… individual who completely relies without question on the guidance of a doctor and has only the most basic knowledge of human health, you may find being in her care acceptable. If on the other hand, you are a person who takes interest in health topics; has some knowledge of medications and also has an individual viewpoint regarding certain aspects of your treatment, you may not be a good candidate for her practice.

she is the best doctor i have had. she know want she is doing. maybe better then some of the other practice.if it was not for her i would be gone.she save my life.

Dr. Fitleberg got me through one of the toughest times of my life. She actually listens to what you say and how you say it. She cares about the "whole you", not just the diagnosis. She is the best doctor that I have ever seen.
