Wonderful doctor and diagnostician

Other comments reference Dr. Chernobilsky as being belittling, dismissive, callous, indifferent to patients’ pain and discomfort, brash, and sorely lacking in empathy. These comments are all true. I have been very lucky to never have had such a horrible experience with a doctor before. He openly sneered and rolled his eyes as I answered his questions about advice that previous doctors (his peers within the same hospital system) had given me, as though I should know better than to have listened to any other doctor before him. During the few minutes when he wasn’t rushing me along, he spent a considerable amount of time giving me his “advice” on weight loss (not his medical specialty). I would love to see a registered dietician’s reaction to his unsolicited guidance that fruit should be completely avoided because it is all sugar and has “no nutritional value.” No questions about my preferences or my current diet, just hollering out unsolicited advice on a topic he isn’t trained in, not… unlike what you’d hear from a drunk frat boy bragging about his keto diet. I cannot imagine what this person is like outside of a medical setting, if he manages to be this hostile towards vulnerable people who are openly coming to him for medical advice.

I am always impressed by NYU Langone doctors, but am especially glad to have been seen by Dr. Chernobilsky, who—in a matter of 5 minutes—resolved a nasal issue I have been dealing with for more than a decade. Really professional, terrific bedside manner, and his staff is very thoughtful and thorough. Kudos to NYU! Will be recommending him to friends.

Extremely very long time you have to wait there , and they doesn’t care , I’m not recommending to schedule to this doctor , you gonna lose all day long just for waiting there

My appointment was terrible. The doctor had horrible bed side manner. The endoscopy was needlessly painful as he just told me to "breathe through it" even as I asked him to stop. I found that he was initially dismissive of my interest in a tonsillectomy even though I have had several years of sinus and throat infections and was interested in the surgery as a preventative measure. When I began sobbing and whimpering during my endoscopy he ignored it and told me that I had a "low threshold for pain" likely "due to all the pain medication I have had in previous surgeries". He did not however take into account that I started my session with complaints of sinus pressure, headache, vertigo and ear pressure which would most likely make this procedure even more painful. He also stated that I down played the painful healing process of a tonsillectomy type of surgery and that I didn't need it. This is not a rhinoplasty or cosmetic surgery. Do not insult me. No one elects to have this surgery… done for the pain medication. I'm also not a drug seeker and do not take pain medication unless necessary. Often I stop any opiates ahead of schedule if I feel I can manage the pain with over the counter medication with the guidance and supervision of my medical team. I found his demeanor and attitude to be incredibly rude, and his conversation with me having an "unnecessary" tonsillectomy dismissive at best. Endoscopies are not pleasant. But regardless if a patient (especially one suffering from ptsd) says they are in intolerable pain it is your duty as a doctor to listen to them, respect their wishes and STOP. I left my appointment feeling pained, mistreated and ignored. I know pain, whether it be physical or emotional. The comment about my threshold for pain was beyond unnecessary and I found it to be especially hurtful due to the fact that any medications prescribed to me were deemed necessary just as much as the surgeries. Maybe that conversation would be best had for a patient who hadn't had numerous cancerous/ tumors or growths removed from 3 parts of their body and maybe someone who was doctor shopping and abusing pain medication. I will not be seeing Dr Chernobilsky again as he undermined my symptoms, complex medical history and further more my bodily autonomy. Next time stop a procedure when a patient is under duress, instead of making it their fault under the assumption they had a "low pain threshold due to Percocets prescribed after MEDICALLY NECESSARY surgery. Save that for an addict pill shopping in your practice, and learn to listen to your patients.

I wrote review after review and somehow this doctor has chance to remove this comments. He is very poor quality doctor, after his surgery I almost died.

This doctor is very unprofessional. He allows himself not to wear gloves and mask.
