Dr. Boyd Vaziri, MD

Dr. Boyd Vaziri did my cataract surgery at the Suncoast Surgery Center at Frantz Eye Care at Gulf Research Lane off Alico Road. Level of care was amazing. My previous cataract surgery did not rise to this level of care. Special thanks to the anthologist who took the time to get it right and keep me safe. My follow up care the next day after surgery was with Stephen Haidet.

Dr Varziri is very nice he always greets my Moma and me . He ask us how we are. Before he looks at her records or exams her. I feel he has a real interest in our total well being.

He is nice and professional and he is very caring, he took my situation serious and gave me the best care. I recommend him.

I have just completed cataract surgery on both of my eyes and must share my results and satisfaction with surgeon, staff, and facilities. My eye surgeon, Dr. Boyd Vaziri, of Charlotte Eye Ear Nose and Throat Associates, PA, has been taking care of my eyes for many years. He is professional, knowledgeable, and articulate with a warm, helpful personality. Luckily, my eyes have always been healthy. Despite the fact that I have astigmatism, I have worn contact lens successfully for 42 years, the last 20 years of which have been Monovision. This means my eyes focused separately, enabling me to see distance with my right eye and near with my left eye, without the aid of glasses. The progression of my cataracts, yellowed lenses blocking light to my retina, finally reached a ripened stage such that I could proceed with cataract surgery. Furthermore, the shape of my eyes was more like footballs than basketballs, meaning light was not focused on one spot in the retina, creating… the blurriness and distortion of corneal astigmatism. Medicare pays for a Monofocal Intraocular lens, which replaces the yellowed lens of the cataract, but cannot correct pre-existing corneal astigmatism. Dr. Vaziri recommended AcrySof IQ Toric IOL, which, though not covered by Medicare, treats both the cataracts and astigmatism with one procedure, producing crisp vision with no glasses. In my view, money well spent is never missed later and, to me, there was no smarter use for money than trading it for better vision. Given the vast improvement in my sight (no glasses), I feel that I chose the right option for me. Dr. Vaziri expertly removed the cataracts and inserted the AcrySof IQ Toric IOL, which corrected both my distance vision and the blurriness of the astigmatism at the same time. In the right eye, he corrected my distance vision to its fullest extent. He also corrected the distance vision in my left eye, but we continued with the Monovision method, backing off a bit on the correction to enable me to still read without glasses. Voila! I now have the best of both worlds! In addition, the Charlotte Outpatient Surgery Center demonstrated strict attention to cleanliness. Its personnel were prompt, courteous, and well organized. All members of the nursing staff were exceedingly well trained, informative, thorough, cautious, and precise, while also being friendly and reassuring. When my husband saw Dr. Viziri today and he said what he thought the problem was we didn’t understand the medical term and asked for an explanation. He said “I’m a doctor and it’s what I said. I can’t dumb it down”. He has referred him on to a specialist. Needless to say we won’t need his advice again. We should have stopped everything there but the element of rude surprise took over. Please learn how to treat the elderly.

The staff and doctor are not patient oriented. I waited 1 hour and 15 minutes in a closed exam room without any staff checking on me or communicating with me about the delay. When the doctor arrived and I asked him about the delay he brushed me off. Very little time during the exam was used to communicate about the exam results.

Dr. Vaziri is a really good Doctor and Surgeon, I would refer everyone to him. He was my Doctor in Greensboro. I still drive to Charlotte when I have E.E.N.T. problems, Jim Crozier

As a guy, I normally don't run to doctors when I have a health problem. However, I was having some unusual eye issues so I went to see Dr. Vaziri. Bottom line I'm glad I did. After a complete exam, interview, etc. Dr. Vaziri explained treatment options for the serious problem I had. He treated me over three visits, and I am happy to say my eye problem is gone!

He did not listen to my concern, and wrote me off when I returned to his office complaining of issues after having my eyes dilated. It has been four days and I am still feel dilated. The technician did all of the work and diagnosing. Does not spend much time with the patient.
