Dr. Brent Van Dorsten, PhD

We visited with Dr. Brent Van Dorsten per a request from my husbands neurologist for a phycological review. He fumbled to start the meeting and there were signs he was too busy and unprepared. The start of the visit was interrupted multiple times. Dr. Van Dorsten was unable to provide us with any help, guidance, or recommendations for treatment of my husbands pain. He seemed confused that anyone could ever be in so much pain. He glossed over his history and refused to acknowledge that his conditions could cause such a disability. This is a clear violation of “Diagnosis Exclusion” which should be part of diagnosis. This showed us his lack of experience when it comes to treating pain. He came across as just another Dr. wannabe elitist and is only concerned with self-promoting and the letters behind his name. Finally, He had to gaslight us to end the call. Telling us to just try the drugs again. Even though they have never worked and have only made things worse. There was no regard for… his medical PTSD . He was hurt further, mentally and physically by his treatment. We have concerns now as to how this will impact his treatment with his neurologist . I would recommend looking elsewhere for your “Health” and “Care ”. This is not a game and people who are in pain should be treated with more compassion. I cannot believe he is allowed to be around patients with chronic pain. I will never stop demanding and expecting better. Shame on you!
