Dr. Brian Paul Garrett, MD

I will never go back to Dr Garrett. I have Bipolar and was stable on my meds for 4 years before seeing him. He switched my meds and within 2 months I had a full blown manic episode. I made an appointment to see him and was turned away because I was 15 min late even though I told them I would be late as I had to drive there. He turned me away when I needed help the most. I then ended up in the psych hospital. I have since found an excellent psychiatrist and am stable again. During my visits he was unprofessional and would put his feet up on his desk during my appointment. He never asked me detailed questions about my moods. Horrible doctor!

I cannot make any direct allegations on this site due to legal reasons but Dr. Garrett had made very EXPLICIT comments to me, a young woman. Please trust this comment and don't send yourself or, God forbid, your own child.

I sent my refill request to the pharmacy as normal, the pharmacy received a denial. Weird! I called the pharmacy and ask if they can push if through again, because there must be a mistake. Willingly they agreed, then once again the doctor office denied the request. I called the office and spoke with a female ( she refused to give me her name ) but said she will not refill my prescription until they receive my insurance! Now, my insurance was lapsed and the doctor along with the manager knew and ASSURED ME THEY WOULD CONTINUE TO FILL MY medicine without current insurance info. I was working on getting that info to them, I really enjoyed Dr Garrett but was shocked he left me hanging. I lost my job, went through severe withdrawals mentally and he’s no where to be found. I left 2 messages requesting himself or the office manager to please give me a call to fix this and I never received one phone call. I have some mental issues and when he refused to refill my medicine which again he… assured me he wouldn’t stop the medicine without a exit game plan ( not to mention the medicine has changed my life for the better ) ... but he did the opposite. RD

I went to this eye doctor when he was working at Costco in Independence. Felt like he was a very good doctor, very much at ease with him. Felt like I got a good eye exam. No problems at all. Very happy with glasses but still wish he was at Costco!
