Dr. Brian Eugene Lovelace, MD

Took my 16 yr old daughter to Dr. Lovelace today. She has had hip, back and chronic pain for over 2 years. She is fatigued all the time and some of her inflammation markers were high. He dismissed us. Spent 10 minutes in the appointment. Told her she needed physical therapy and harshly told her to "get the weight off." Will never be back. His spoke to her so harshly, dismissed my questions and basically told us that "he had no answers" on how to help her get thru school.

My experience with Dr. Lovelace was excellent. He took what seemed like an aggressive approach to use the leg as quickly as possible that resulted in a faster recovery time without complications. He was also willing to listen to my questions and provided complete answers with every visit. Below is a summary of my particular situation and should not be used as guidance without a doctor's consultation. I completely broke my lower fibula at the ankle. The break was clean and stable. I had broken the same bone in nearly the same place before and that resulted in a cast, although that break also seemed to be stable (spiral fracture that had reset itself). Dr. Lovelace prescribed a walking boot and said that I could immediately stop the use of crutches. I was skeptical, but followed his advice. Sure enough, in a few days I was only using the boot. Initially, this did come with extreme fatigue and moderate to high pain and swelling. Each day strength improved. He also stated that, in my… situation, I could sleep without the boot on. Again, I was skeptical, but followed his instruction, keeping it elevated through the night and repositioning the ankle onto its side when comfort demanded. There were no negative consequences (though there were odd sensations around the break) and this allowed me to stretch the ankle a little through range of motion each night and morning. The boot came off at about six weeks (may have been eight) and was replaced with a brace. I used the brace for about a day before going to just socks and shoes. He did advise to be very careful not to roll/sprain the ankle, so I was careful. Based on my past experience breaking the same bone, his treatment seemed to result in a little less muscle atrophy/strength loss and a faster recovery period. If I break another bone, I would be happy to return to Dr. Lovelace:)

HE REPLACED BOTH OF MY KNEES 6 YEARS AGO AT THE SAME TIME. TOOK THE TIME TO EXPLAIN EVERYTHING REALLY WELL. THE AFTER CARE WAS VERY HELPFULL. EVERYBODY IN THE OFFICE WAS VERY NICE AND REALLY CARED ABOUT THE OUT COME. I HAVE DONE VERY WELL EVER SINCE . IT GAVE ME A VERY ACTIVE LIFE BACK. I'M VERY GREATFULL FOR ALL THEY DONE.

Excellent Dr. He did my knee replacement 1 1/2 years ago. Did an awesome job!
