Brooke Lehmann, DNP, APRN, AGPCNP-BC

Brooke Lehmann, DNP, APRN, AGPCNP-BC, is an adult-gerontology primary care nurse practitioner who is an expert in providing patient-centered, holistic primary care with cultural humility for older adults. She earned her bachelor's in nursing from Creighton University and her doctorate in nursing practice from the University of Michigan focusing on health policy and quality improvement. She completed a one-year nurse practitioner residency at the Washington, DC Veterans Affairs Medical Center in primary care focusing on geriatric medicine. Dr. Lehmann also brings expertise in implementing quality improvement initiatives and developing health policy to reduce healthcare disparities among vulnerable populations. She has experience in nurse-managed care settings, acute care and community care settings, and teaching experience as a nursing preceptor and clinical faculty member. Dr. Lehmann is a member of the GW House Call Program and sees patients in their homes and in the community. She …values patient-centered care and evidence-based practice. Dr. Lehmann partners with her patients and their loved ones to achieve individualized health goals and focus on what matters most to each patient. Prior to joining GW MFA, she practiced at the Washington DC VA Medical Center where she cared for veterans in geriatrics. Additionally, she has experience with LGBTQ+ patient populations. Dr. Lehmann's academic interests include advocating for health policy at all levels (health systems, local, and national) to reduce disparities among vulnerable populations. She is also interested in health promotion and disease prevention among geriatric patient populations. Dr. Lehmann enjoys teaching future nursing professionals in both the baccalaureate and advanced practice settings.
