Dr. Bruce Allan Hartwig, MD

I would not recommend Dr. Hartwig based on my experience. I saw him for a workers’ compensation injury, and I felt completely dismissed. At my second appointment, I only spent about five minutes with him. He seemed focused on calling my symptoms pre-existing, even though I explained that they were new after my work fall and/or much worse than before. He did not explain a diagnosis, treatment plan, restrictions, or next steps. When I asked about testing, he asked me, “What tests?” which made me feel like my concerns were not being taken seriously. After my short visit, I was sent to the lobby while my workers’ comp case manager spoke with him separately. Shortly after that, I was given paperwork clearing me to return to work, even though I still did not feel safe driving or functioning normally. I left feeling rushed, unheard, and not properly evaluated. I would tell anyone with a serious injury to be cautious and make sure everything is documented, or just find another Dr. The nice… front desk lady’s are the best part about his establishment.

This was the most terrible experience I had with a doctor in my life. Do not waste your time going at all. He is not going to do anything most probably. Pretty arrogant, heartless and not caring about. Looked at me like I am a jerk, keep saying I read to much. Didn't want to do anything to find out what is causing the issue saying this is not his business and why I was sent to him. The front desk personnel is not polite at all looking very unhappy with her job. Overall the most terrible experience in my life with doctor.

Don't waste your time. He treated me so rudely. Rolled his eyes and bobbed his head at me trying to distract me from telling him my problems since experiencing head trauma. I have pain and short term memory loss and he just flat out told me i dont have that. It was the most bizarre 5 minutes of my life. He tried to put words in my mouth and direct what I was saying to him rather than him listening to me. He did not look over my ct scan , talk to me about it or suggest anything I can do to help recover from my head trauma. He tried to belittle me and distract me during my whole 5 minutes with him.

I went with my husband to his appointment. He was sent to Dr. Hartwig by his workman's compensation specialist. He took us to his office and never examined my husband. As my husband asked questions the doctor did not listen. He already had a response ready before the question was even asked. When my husband drew attention to that fact the doctor became defensive. He told him that there was nothing that he could do for him. That he was not going to take him out from work. My husband never asked to be removed from work. On the contrary, he wants to be at work and wants to be 100%. This man is condescending and rude. It got to the point that I actually said don't waste your breath on him. The most unprofessional doctor I have ever come across. Do not go to him. He should not be allowed to practice with that bedside manner.

Wait time was minimal- office staff was professional and kind. Was a patient of his for over 10 years. He called me back to his office, sat behind his desk, answered about three questions, wrote me a prescription, and the visit was over. Each visit was less than 10 minutes. He didn't take any time to answer my questions, he never did an examination, etc. He should not be practicing medicine. If you are only looking for someone to prescribe drugs, Dr. Hartwig is the right person. If you are looking for a helpful doctor that actually cares about your condition- RUN AWAY!!!!!

I went to 2 appointments to his office, and did not feel like I was getting proper treatment or care from this doctor. Was rushed out as soon as I got in, and highly recommend many other great Neurologists in Jacksonville. My fiancé can agree as well as many others out there.

Dr. Hartwig diagnosed me with MS in 2006. The only reason I stopped seeing him was that I love in Pace Island and his office is downtown Jacksonville. I had found someone in OP and then that Dr. Was self medications and was arrested for DUO here & NY. I decided to return to Dr. Hartwig. He quickly ordered a CAT scan because of my new symptoms.

Dr. Hartwig is a very kind, caring & compassionate Dr. I was diagnosed with a seizure disorder & I was put on medication to control them, he worked with me to get just the right dose & now I have my life back & have been seizure free for 2 years!

today was my second visit really liked him at once ran tests and glad all is ok he spent all the time to explain things on both visits staff was very helpful go back to see him in 6 months he is falling up with my primary Dr. Becky Irwin Jacksonville Fla

I first saw Dr Hartwig in 1983, first meeting him in an ER. I had given blood and was told that seizures were fairly common after donating blood. However, he had a feeling that something else was wrong and kept me for overnight for an EEG. As it turned out, it was not the donation of blood but a seizure disorder that lasted for a good ten years. Without rhyme or reason, the last gran mal I had was in 2002. He has worked to keep me on minimal dosages that work for me and medications that I feel, although older medications, are the best solution for my problems. I have yet to wait longer than 15 minutes in his office and see him once a year.
