Dr. Bryan William Kaiser, MD

I have known Dr. Kaiser for at least 20 years. The man has replaced both of my hips and recently both of my knees. To me he is like family. I am 69 years old and could have retired from teaching and coaching years ago. I love what I do and will continue to do so as long as my health allows. Dr. Kaiser has extended my career. Without my new hips and knees, I would not be able to spend 2 to 3 hours a day on the field or track 4 days a week. I have run out of joints for Dr. Kaiser to replace. I do however look forward to seeing him at least once a year for follow-ups and to discuss Aggie football. Bryan Kaiser will always be #1 in my book.

Based upon my experiences, if you need a total hip replacement, my recommendation is: TSAOG is THE place to go and Dr. Kaiser should be THE ONE to perform the surgery. Below are the reasons. About TSAOG: Prior to my first hip surgery in 2022, I had two events that required emergency appointments and surgeries. Both times TSAOG took care of me. On a 2010 Sunday, I badly mangled my left thumb in an accident. The ER surgeon who closed the cut, recommended a TSAOG hand doctor as "the best in San Antonio," for additional surgery. TSAOG gave me an appointment the very next day (Monday) and the doctor performed the surgery on Tueday. In 2011, a similar experience: a badly damaged knee in a snow ski accident. Flew home Sunday, had appt. with TSAOG knee surgeon Monday, with successful surgery a day or two later. With this kind of outstanding care, I naturally turned to TSAOG in 2022, for hip surgery. From the website, I selected 8 hip surgeons. After research, reviews, etc, I… picked Dr. Kaiser as the one I wanted. Glad I did. He has done total replacements on both of my hips. The first surgery (Aug 2022), was for my left hip when I was almost 77. The second one, a few weeks ago (May 2025) for my right hip. Because I am almost 80 now, I assumed the recovery for the second operation would be more difficult than the first. But it has not been that way. Both operations were extremely successful: very rapid recoveries; no issues other than the normal, expected swelling. My pain levels were "no pain at all" to "minimal" throughout recovery. This allowed me to use over the counter Tylenol and completely avoid an opioid rx for pain. Dr. Kaiser has a relaxed, confident and direct approach, which I like. I appreciate his surgery skills even more. To my post-surgery physical therapist, I mentioned this. He offered that he has known Dr. Kaiser for a long time, and that Dr. Kaiser often gets the "difficult cases" because he is the best. In closing: TSAOG an outstanding clinic with top doctors and support personnel. Also a great location on U.S.-281, just north of Loop 1604. Very easy access, plenty of parking. Dr. Kaiser an outstanding Doctor.

Superb. This is the go to for hip replacement…..,,,,,

Dr. Kaiser was wonderful. He fully explained the steps for the surgery and answered all questions. His staff was very helpful and followed up on questions quickly. I would highly recommend TSAOG and Dr. Kaiser for joint replacement surgery.

Dr Kaiser expertly performed a procedure on my knee and instantly took care of the problem causing my pain. He is the best orthopedist surgeon! His staff is professional and vary friendly. I would recommend Dr. Kaiser within reservation.

Hip replacement went better than expected

Dr. Kaiser was absolutely phenomenal. I had injured my knee and went to another Ortho practice I was referred to. It took over a week to get in, but I waited. She had no idea what the issue was but she ordered an MRI. It took me 3 days to finally be able to speak to someone but then had no appointments available for another week. I’ve been on crutches for 2 weeks at this point. I said screw it and went to TSAOG and they set me up with Dr. Kaiser. He intently listened and already had an idea of what the issue was before seeing an MRI. He got me scheduled for an MRI THAT NIGHT! And I was back the following morning to see Dr. Tolin, who Dr. Kaiser referred me to, since my injury was more of a Sports Medicine issue. Dr. Kaiser even came by and saw me the following morning to check on me. It was obvious that he really cared and wanted to help me. Which was all I really wanted. Someone that was willing to try, and I am so thankful.
