If you want the best look no further! Dr. Monson is awesome! He is kind and personable and takes the necessary time for your care and specific needs. He is is the best you will find when it comes to cataract and refractive surgery! You will not be disappointed with your visit!

I really like Dr. Monson. He seems very knowledgeable and is kind, however, I left multiple appointments feeling very frustrated. When trying to diagnose the source of my eye infection, he threw a lot of information around, and went straight to recommend expensive procedures and surgeries. I expressed multiple times that I would like to find out the source of my infection and spend more time learning about prevention (my infection flares up regularly). He never really addressed my concerns and just kept explaining the anatomy of the eyelid and why a surgery would be best. I ended up googling and diagnosing my own infection and got it under control simply by washing/cleaning my eyelid differently than I had before. I did not need the expensive surgeries and felt like my time there was wasted. Again, he is a nice person, he just couldn’t seem to get on the same page as me and understand why I was there.

Thank you so much Dr. Monson and the entire Logan Eye Institute team for my life changing experience! I was able to get two amazing different procedures offered at Logan Eye: LASIK and SMILE and because of the excellent care and technology offered there I knew I was getting the best! After over 20 years of dealing with contacts and glasses I now have visual freedom! No more waking up stumbling to find the closest pair of glasses or to the bathroom to put in a pair of contacts just to see what time it is! No more stressing about having enough contacts, solution, and at least one pair of glasses to be able to go anywhere! I had my appointment in the morning and by the end of the day I could see! Without glasses or contacts! Anyone who is thinking about getting this done go to Logan Eye Institute! It will be one of the best decisions you make!

I had a ton of questions, and Logan Eye Institute had all the answers. I adored my experience, each member of the team answered my questions. Everyone I interacted with—from the receptionists to Dr. Monson—were professional yet friendly. They took the time to address all of my unfounded anxieties. The reality is, all your fears about LASIK go away when you wake up the next day, and you no longer have to search for your glasses! Dr. Monson was very calming and reassuring during the procedure. After watching the video of the surgery on my husband's phone (they have a family observation area with ceiling to floor glass and flat-screen TV of your procedure live), I can appreciate how gentle Dr. Monson was with my eyes. His technical proficiency and empathy are on a different level. I had the SmILE LASIK procedure which was just perfect for my eyes. It's so worth it, and as a photographer I'm obsessed! And as cliché, as it sounds, it's seriously one of the best decisions I've ever… made! Here are some of the things I finally get to enjoy... - Being able to do photography as my job without having to worry about glasses! - 3D movies are fun now. No more 3D glasses over my regular glasses. - Not having to deal with constant smudges and dust particles. - Letting our puppy lick my face without having to worry about a thing. - Buying sunglasses without having to order expensive prescription ones! - Not having to spend hundreds on contacts each year. - Being able to travel without being all paranoid about glasses! - Overall, just feeling more confident in myself! I could go on and on... And the downsides? There are none. I literally drove myself to Logan the next day for the follow-up. I finally got to wear all the sunglasses I had bought years ago, with the hopes that one day I could wear them without contacts. My vision is so clear! When I was 11 years old (1995) my eye was punctured by a yucca plant (sword like cactus). At the time, I required glasses for myopia, but typical to an 11 year old, I wasn't wearing my glasses that day so in the yucca went. The plant entered and exited without doing too much damage, but of course the hole had to be sewn up. I wore a patch for a week or so and then ,upon removing the patch and taking an eye exam, much to the surprise and amazement of the surgeon, my vision in that eye was corrected! Don't try that at home! Don't ask how, I don't understand the science behind it, but for 20 years I could see 20/20 with that one eye. All good right? Not so much... The injury over time developed into an astigmatism as well as a cataract. I was 32 with a cataract. Lame! But not unheard of especially with a history of injury. I originally went to see Dr. Monson because I wanted Lasik, but he found the cataract so we headed down that road instead. Dr Monson didn't want me… to lose the range of vision I had in that eye so we opted to implant a multi-focal lens known as the symphony lens. It uses different sizes of rings to allow patients to focus at different distances. Picture a bulls eye with the inner rings allowing you to see up close and the outer rings allowing you to see at a distance. Awesome concept for advanced technology. I was awake during the cataract surgery, but didn't experience any discomfort. Dr. Monson was awesome to answer any questions and keep me calm and comfortable. Recovery for a cataract surgery with technology at this level and a surgeon with this skill set is easy! No problem there. Unfortunately, as only happens in extremely rare cases, my lens rotated. This made it so I could see all those bulls eye rings whenever I looked at lights at night. I had bulls eyes coming off of tail lights that were just as bright as the lights themselves and bigger than the road. Yeah, that wasn't going to work. Back to Dr. Monson, and I was nervous about this (Ok freaking out!). This is where Dr. Monson and his team really went to bat for me. Dr. Monson was on the phone with colleagues overseas and in the states discussing what had gone wrong and addressing concerns for future patients as well as for me. He performed a second cataract surgery, free of charge, with a lens from staar surgical that wouldn't give me quite as much range as the symphony, but certainly more than you get with a monofocol lens. He used state of the art technology for perfect placement and perscription and to ensure that my eye underwent as little trauma as possible. I would require lasik with this lens because it didn't fix the astigmatism, but that procedure couldn't be performed for 3 months, so Dr Monson did Lasik on my right eye the next day, so I could see while I waited for the left eye to heal. Yep! Cataract surgery one day, Lasik the next on the other eye! These surgeries are so gentle that I was up the next day, blurry, but ok. Recovery from lasik is worse than recovery for cataract surgery oddly enough, but still only like a day of discomfort. 3 months later we did a Yag Capsulotomy, fancy word for clearing cell buildup from behind the new lens, and then finally lasik on the left eye. I had 5 procedures in all, counting the yucca, done on my left eye and now it sees 20/20. Not only is he a great micro surgeon, but just a nice, personable guy, who values his patients sight and takes pride in his work! Job well done!

I love my eyesight. I think its a miracle what can be done. Dr Monson was a delight to work with. Smart, but we felt cared for and had an instant connection. Hand holding in a good way. My eyesight is so good. I recommend LASIK from him for sure.

Was referred to Eye Associates as my former eye doctor said she had done everything she could do for my vision. I had cataracts, among other issues. I then met with Dr Monson and we discussed my options and reached a decision on which lens to have implanted. He took the time to explain in detail what the procedure and daily follow-up would entail. I am thrilled with the results of the lens but also his skill as a eye surgeon. He was able with the lens selections to make corrections of myopia, presbyopia and astigmatism in both eyes…glasses free without sutures, next-day! It is amazing to see this clearly again, thank you Dr Monson.

Dr. Monson performed cataract surgery on my right eye and I am very pleased with the results. I have 100% confidence in his skills and I find his explanation of the procedure to be both informative and easy to understand.

What a wonderful experience my mother and I recently had with Doctor Monson! I normally don't just pick a doctor for myself, neither for my loved ones. I always careful go through a doctor's profile and also see what people have to say about him/her. Doctor Monson is exclusively skillful in all that he does. My mother had cataract surgical procedures done for both of her eyes. Dr. Monson explained very well of what will be done and what can be expected. He took time to go through all the details and listened and answered to all of our questions. I'm very impressed the way he treated my mother as if she was one of his loved ones, with care and respect. I'm even more impressed that he took time to make a personal phone call to speak to us to check on how my mom was doing after the procedure (Keep in mind, not many doctors out there really do it!). My mom's vision before and after the procedure has been a huge difference. My mom does not want to wear eye glasses, so Dr. Monson… suggested her to use the blended lens. With this lens, my mom now can see things clearly, near and far. She can read her Bible without a need of using her eye glasses. I'm so happy that her youth vision is now has been restored. Another thing that I need to mention here is that my mom said she did not experience pain during and after her procedure. Only a few days after the procedure done that she feel some irritation, but the drops that Dr. Monson prescribed her was really helpful. The irritation is of course expected and is normal because it was a surgical procedure that was done to the eyes. I also see Dr. Monson for my eye itchiness issue. I have this eye itchiness problem constantly going on for about more than 4 years now; "constantly" is what I really meant everyday!!! I have been to many doctors and specialist doctors and they all had me tried out so many different kinds of drops, but none was helping. I gave up on doctors for more than a year now because so much wasting in time and money but they cannot do anything about my eyes. I talked to Dr. Monson about it when I brought my mom over for the cataract surgery. He did not wait until I have my own appointment with him, he did an examination for my eyes right there in his office without any hesitation. Right there, he gave me drops and samples that perfectly work out for my eyes. It has been about 3 weeks now that I did not experience eye itchiness since I used the drops that he gave. The itchiness that I have is mainly at the corner of both eyes, constantly itching, days and nights, except when I sleep. This problem has been stopped now. I'm looking forward to the day that I can wear my contact lenses again instead of using eye glasses..yeahhhh! Thank you Doctor Monson!!! You are gifted! I'm so grateful that you took care of my mom and I. I hate to see you leaving Arizona, but I know God have a wonderful plan for you, a plan to prosper you! We love you! I have no trouble in recommending Doctor Monson to anyone that is in need to see an eye doctor. Look no more. Doctor Monson is a perfect doctor for you!
