Do not waste your time going to Dr Lesniak if you are just an average Joe and not a star athlete because the impression that I got from him is I wasn’t worth his time. I was sent to him by another orthopedic doctor who did an MRI on my knee and noticed what looked to be a partial ACL tear that he didn’t feel comfortable treating so I trusted his judgement and drove an hour and a half away to Dr Lesniak where at my first visit he took me out of work for 3 weeks to do physical therapy which did not help. So upon returning to work at a very physically demanding job my knee pain only got worse so I made another appointment hoping to get scheduled for surgery this time only to go in and be told by him the only option he had for me was to give me a cortisone shot in my knee because there was nothing wrong with me I initially agreed to it but quickly decided against it and opted for a second opinion. When I went for a second opinion the doctor came in and instantly told me I indeed did have a… partially torn ACL and offered me 3 options, physical therapy, arthroscopic knee surgery or full reconstruction knee surgery and we both decided the arthroscopic surgery was the best option for me at the time so I had the surgery done about a month later and feel 100X’s better but no thanks to Dr Lesniak that’s for sure. I had 2 doctors plus the radiologist who read my MRI all saying I had a torn ACL but this “specialist” didn’t see anything. Do yourself a favor and find a doctor who actually cares about you and not one who only offers temporary fixes

I saw this doctor for chronic knee pain. He let me know that it would be a hassle to diagnose my injury with imaging, so I was just sent to PT. PT helped slightly and he said that's the best we can do and sent me on my way ($2000 in copays later with no diagnosis). Two years later, my pain is significantly worse and I now need to start all over with not even a diagnosis. I suppose as a non-athlete, I am less interesting than some clients, but I should not have to live my life in pain since imaging is a hassle for Dr. Lesniak. Please consider another doctor if you want someone to listen and help you.

Everything that I was told was exactly what happened. All went well and he was honest and to the point. Not thrilled about surgery, but he made it as good as it could get.

Excellent job in surgically repairing my son's shoulder after a football injury. He was back playing sports after 6 months and no issues.

Lack of specialized knowledge and substandard care resulted in more pain when walking than I could ever possibly describe. My arthroscopic hip surgery with him was Jan 2014 (now Mar 2016) and still a long ways away from walking comfortably. I had to have another surgery and still in therapy. Lack of specialized knowledge: he didn't know how to fix my issue, i.e. the arthritis in my hip from the trauma I sustained. This was resolved via microfracture in the second surgery. The funny thing was I even asked him after the surgery about microfracture because I had read about it somewhere and he said, "No, you're not a candidate for that." Well turns out I was the perfect candidate. Substandard care: the lack of guidance regarding therapy made it even worse. He wasn't at my initial follow up appointment. His resident recommended exercises which were causing me more pain. He doesn't return any phone calls so it wasn't until the one month follow up that I found out I shouldn't… be doing them. Then he said, "Didn't you get the rehab guidelines?" No, how would I if you never gave them to me? The print out still didn't specify timelines on healing and he was always saying 3-6 months. So when I pushed it at 4 months, it caused a world of damage. Good times. Maybe he would be adequate if your condition is common and not that severe but for the most part, find someone more specialized.
