Dr. Bushra Mastoor, MD

I am a very athletic & healthy person. In 2013, I had my annual appointment with Dr. Mastoor. She had me take extra tests, told me I had heart problems, & to stop running (I did not). This year I am running a marathon & went in for an appointment just as a precaution. She repeated back information to me incorrectly several times, even after I attempted to correct her, then told me to immediately stop running & that I still had heart problems. My father had died only a few months prior of heart-problems, so obviously this scared me & caused me months of anxiety & stress. She ordered several (expensive) heart tests. I immediately visited a cardiologist, who looked at the same tests she made her diagnosis from. He informed me there was absolutely nothing wrong with me, that I was healthier than most people, & that he wasn't sure where she got her diagnosis from or why she had me take these tests. Dr. Mastoor is either not properly educated or just intent on making money off of… patients. Years of an inaccurate diagnosis (when there is actually nothing wrong with me) had me paranoid every time I did physical activity, fearful that I was going to injure myself due to my "heart problems"; this was holding me back from reaching my full athletic potential. I had a race immediately after finding out I am problem-free and ran my best time ever, worry-free. After spending 3 years with an extremely wrong diagnosis, I would definitely NOT recommend Dr.Mastoor.
