Dr. Calvin Joseph Duffaut, MD

Saw this dr for pain and weakness in legs after intense sports training. His bed side manner is ver poor and criticised how much work out I did rather than actually trying to solve my medical issue. He appeared very careless about patient concerns. He told me he couldn’t diagnose me and referred me to non orthopedic doctors for an evaluation when the issue was sports related injury to muscles. I asked him many questions only to be dismissed.

I had been referred to Dr Duffaut after I’ve been spending 6 months trying to figure out what’s going on with my knee. The latest orthopedist had sent me, for an Ultrasound Injection, if I recall, into my IT Band (I’ve had so many possibles, I can’t keep them straight). First, my orthopedist had tried to see if Duffaut had time the day I was in the office, as it was then 430 and all patients had been seen or left at that time. Duffaut rejected then. I assumed busy; but not actually sure, as he couldn’t even stop to say, “see you soon, talk to my scheduler/assistant”. So; i still had another 5 days waiting to get in with him, as I continue to hobble around and deal with the pain. Due to unforeseen circumstances (a traffic light out holding up traffic in Hollywood, a motorcycle accident blocking traffic) I was late to my appointment. I accept responsibility for that. But, for being 15min late, I was refused, again. I wasn’t even allowed to hang out in case someone else canceled. Again,… he couldn’t be bothered to say anything other than relay through the front desk, “call and reschedule”. This time, it’s 10days before he’s available. He said to call his assistant, who is not in the office nor checking voicemails today. So, if you’re seeing Duffaut for a routine reason, for something that’s not bothering you, impacting your day to day, or life threatening, then maybe he’s ok. If you’re seeking treatment with Duffaut for something causing pain, hindering your daily life, then run to anywhere else but Duffaut. He doesn’t care about you

He isa advanced for little experience. He really spent time in finalizing his diagnosis and went over treatment options in depth. Great Dr and persons, lovely bed-side manners.
