Dr. Candace Marie Hrelec

Dr. Candace Hrelec is the Best surgeon and Doctor I have ever met. I first met her at The Cleveland Clinic where she was referred to me by my Pulmonologist as the best in the business. I have a very complicated case that has required 30 surgeries already. Most surgeons won't even touch me out of fear for complications. If you go to the best surgeon's, sometimes you have to wait. They're so empathetic and compassionate they don't rush their patients. Each case is different and sometimes inevitably, unexpected things come up that require more time or tests. As soon as Dr. Hrelec walked in, I knew she was the right Doctor. She looked down my throat with a camera and perfectly diagnosed my case. She scheduled me for surgery and took out the large growth in my throat. Afterwards, she scheduled me for exercises that brought my voice back. Two of my wife's clients had similar surgery and lost their voices forever. Fast forward 15 months and I followed Dr. Hrelec to Sarasota Memorial Hospital… in Florida for the same surgery on the other side of my throat caused by the Royal Phillips cpap machine. Dr. Hrelec, her staff,and the hospital gave me the Best surgery I ever had. I wish I could give Doctor Hrelec 10 stars. All the heads of pulmonary and vascular at The Cleveland Clinic consider her the Best of the Best. I would follow her to Mars for surgery if she opened up there. Sarasota is very blessed to have her and you will be too if you're lucky enough to book her. The last review I read is ridiculous. If you are looking for the Best in the world, Dr. Hrelec is it.

Referred to Dr. Herlec for chronic cough and sinus issues. She was extremely thorough in the examination and has a great personality. Very easy to talk to and most importantly listens carefully to you. That allowed for a good discussion to help get to a recommendation on my perplexing cough. I consider her a valuable member of my medical team

If I could give this doctor a 0 star rating I would. My appt was scheduled 2 months in an advance.. that morning I over slept called the scheduling department and they advised I had plenty of time to make the appt as I was her last appt. They also told me that she was leaving Cleveland Clinic. My appt was at 10:39, I arrived at 10:15, checked in and the front desk told me that she was 40 mins behind.. I asked if I could see someone else and they said no but could rebook the appt but mostly likely it would be another month, before I saw someone. I told them that I had been dealing with a sinus infection for over 4 months that would not go away and that I couldn’t wait another month, so I opted to wait.. I asked if they could take my cell phone number and text me so I could wait in my car because I was not comfortable with being in their reception area for that long of a time. Her receptionist told me no that they wouldn’t do that because they had no idea how long she would be and… that I had to sit in the waiting area until I was called or if miss my appointment.. I sat there for 40 mins and then inquired how much longer it would be.. they said they had no idea.. I sat in that waiting room for 2 hours by this time it was after 12:00. Knowing that most people take lunch at that time I asked again how much longer it would be.. they called back and said they were disinfecting the room and would be taking me back. This Doctors intake person would barely look at me, was very short took a brief history and didn’t take any vitals.. and then said the doctor would be in shortly.. I sat for another 1/2 hour in the room. And stepped out a couple of times to inquire where the Doctor was. Everyone in that office was eating their lunch and showed absolutely no regard for me. When the doctor finally showed up I questioned her about the length of time I waited in the lobby and in the patient room and questioned why if she was that overwhelmed didn’t she just canceled the appt. She immediately went on defense and l said well I can clearly see your upset and mad.. this isn’t going to work, I’m not going to treat you, and she walked out of the room.. I was floored and very upset. The only individual that even showed an ounce of concern was the individual outside her office screening for Covid symptoms.. when she saw me crying she asked me what happened.. to add insult to injury when I got home I got a notice from mychart.. it was a after visit comment by this doctor that basically said I was rude, screamed at her and used foul language.. all of such was a flat out lie.. I immediately called Cleveland Clinic’s Grievance Dept and filed a complaint and filed a complaint with my insurance dept.. DO NOT GO TO THIS FACILITY/DOCTOR!
