Dr. Carey Ellen Gross, MD

Dr. Carey needs psychological counseling herself. She helped alienate me from my son due to her methods and personal dislike, of me because I questioned her methods, which were to barely talk to the parents and speak only to the child! I took my very troubled 14-year-old son for medication management several years ago. I hadn’t been able to find anyone that he would open up to because my ex-husband, an active alcoholic I had divorced, had told him counseling was for weaklings and taking psychiatric drugs made him a drug addict. She spoke to me only once, insisting she spoke only to the children. I explained his case was complicated and that I needed to give her background information. I gave her a list of the doctors I had taken my son to because she refused to talk to me. She refused to work with his current therapist without explaining why, and her report claimed the problem was me, the mother, because I had taken him to many doctors, which in her mind was a symptom of a condition… like Munchausen syndrome--something no other doctor had even hinted at, diagnosing him with a variety of conditions. His alcoholic father showed him this unprofessional report, and my son said that Dr. Gross had helped him see "what you've done to me," demanded to move in with his father, a very negative and mean-spirited person, and didn't speak to me for four years. It broke my heart and I'm now considering filing a complaint against her. It's only now that my son is finally beginning to come around, at age 26. What she did is unprofessional and unconscionable and I'm shocked to see 5-star reviews here, which is why I decided to include my own experience.

Excellent Doctor.

I went to this doctor a few years ago and and only used her for a short time. While there I mentioned concerns I had about having kids down the road due to medical complications and she told me to get a hysterectomy without my parents knowledge.

Dr. Gross spent a lot of time with me on the phone before I met her. She answered questions about my child and explained how the appointment would go. She was easy to talk to and my child liked her.

She has been my doctor for two years. She helped me a lot at the end of high school and with my parents. She is still my doctor while I am at college.

This is the most unprofessional doctor I have ever been to.
