Dr. Carlos Alberto Rotman, MD

Don’t take your daughters here, or if you tend to not speak up for yourself, find another doctor. His attitude put me in a box where I felt pressured to do what I was not comfortable with as a young adolescent. Now I’m 21, studying in the medical field and I wished the woman who was working with him advocated for me as she saw I struggled advocating for myself. She probably was scared of what Mr. Rotman would do if she took my side. I share my story with many medical professionals, and they are left with no words. He left me traumatized ever since and I could never go to another OB/GYN that is a male. Seeing his face on TV once now brings so much disgust to me.

Has anyone experienced any side effects after a laparoscopy surgery? Inner thigh and bikini area burning sensation. If so what did they doctor tell you it was? I have been dealimg with it for amost two weeks now.

Unable to get pregnant after he operated on me, says it's MY fault

I had been having excessive pain and bleeding for eight years. For the last four years I had extreme hemorrhaging. Periods that would last for 3 months with humongous blot clots. I went to many many gynecologist that Ichecked out their background first and some told me it was normal and others just gave me birth control pills or hormones. They did ultrasounds on me and told me nothing was wrong with me. Others didn't even do an ultrasound. I have very good insurance and I don't understand why they didn't do more tests on me. Finally I found Dr Rotman and he did an ultrasound on me and checked me. He explained to me what I had in a way I understood. He was compassionate and kind. He has also treated my condition . I had surgery and I'm so glad it was Dr Carlos Rotman who performed it. I finally met a doctor who is really a doctor. Who solves conditions and not just patches them. I'm only 39 yrs. old and I'm looking forward to walking a couple of blocks without bleeding. God speed to Dr… Rotman in everything he does. Thank goodness I found him. I hope anyone who has a problem or just for a check up go with him. I only wish I had found him sooner.

I was sent to see Dr. Rotman so that I could have surgery for chronic pelvic pain/endo. It took me a month to get in, but that was what I expected so I had no issue with that. I finally went in for my consult. Dr. Rotman performed an ultrasound and I was told to wait outside of his office so he could talk to me about the results and surgery. As I was sitting in the hall, he walked by and briefly said that we would be doing surgery and he would look at a few different areas. He then walked away and went into a room to see another patient. He didn't give me the opportunity to ask questions or even give me any real details about what the surgery entailed. I met with a scheduler to figure out the surgery date, and left the office. A week or so later the office called me and told me that I needed to have a colonoscopy and they were taking me off the surgery schedule. I called one of the other doctors and explained that I really couldn't push back my surgery date for a variety of… reasons but I would do whatever I could to make sure I got the colonoscopy done as soon as possible. The other doctor assured me that he would do everything he could to keep me on the schedule for the only date that was really an option for me. I was able to get in for the colonoscopy, and was told everything was ok and that the doctors could proceed with the surgery. However, it took about 3 or 4 phone calls to even get that information, and the office could not figure out which of the doctors I should see for my follow-up. (I still haven't had a follow-up because I have no idea who I am supposed to see, as the GI doctor told me to go back to one of the surgeons.) But, as long as surgery was still scheduled I could deal with the trouble getting a follow-up appointment. The doctor that told me I didn't need to come in, just to call on Monday and schedule surgery. I was still on the schedule for the single date that worked for me, which was only 2 1/2 weeks away, but I just had to call to confirm, basically. I was told that the doctor needed to talk to me and that he would DEFINITELY call me that day. I received no call. I called back the following day, and explained the situation. I told them that surgery was scheduled for 2 weeks from now, and I just needed to make sure everything was going as planned so I could make all of the necessary arrangements. Again, I was told the doctor would call me. I again didn't hear from him, so I had my mom (who owns a home healthcare agency, thus deals with doctors' office all of the time) call to see if she could get further than I did. She called, and was told that Dr. Rotman was out for the entire month, which was something that hadn't been mentioned to me at all in the probably dozen times I called trying to figure out what was going on since no one would give me the answer. (In fact, the office told me a few times that the doctor was just discussing my case.) They told my mom that he was doing surgeries on Saturday and I would definitely hear something. So, Saturday afternoon came and I decided to call since they hadn't called me yet. I spoke with one of the receptionists or nurses, and was informed that Dr. Rotman was going to be out of town, and could no longer perform the surgery that was scheduled for a week and half from that day. Obviously, my experiences with Dr. Rotman haven't been very positive. I may still have him perform surgery if I can somehow work the timing out, and perhaps that will change my opinion. But, this whole process has been very frustrating for me. He may be a great surgeon and maybe my experience is very unusual for this office and Dr. Rotman, but that doesn't change the fact that my experiences have been pretty awful.

Dr. Rotman is the best gyne surgeon in the world! Nobody else could help me, but he fixed my problem like it was nothing. Thank you Dr. Rotman!!!
