Dr. Carmen Josefa Perez, MD

Dr. Perez is amazing, but only when she is with you in person. Her nursing and front office staff are terrible. It is impossible to get in touch. There is never a follow up or response to messages. There is never a follow through on the after plan or after visit. I am thoroughly disgusted. Like I said Dr. Perez is a great doctor, but everything else about the practice and how things work there is awful. To me the knowledge of Dr. Perez is not worth dealing with everything else or lack thereof. I need a new doctor because I cannot have an unreliable PCP who can only see you in 2 months and does not answer calls or messages and follow through with care plans and test results.

She is a good doctor when with her in office for appt. You always wait at least an hour and a half though. She is simply never available to you when you have an emergency. Will not return your call for help when you leave a message for her. Her nurses do not return your calls for help when you need it Either. Been this way for 15 years. Clearly not going to change and manage her practice to reserve appts each day to fit in existing patients for emergencies, return patient phone calls or patient messages or questions left on the patient portal.

Dr is Great, when you are able to see her . She’s always booked. And not to mention wait time . Be prepared to spend hrs at this dr office . It doesn’t matter if you are on time or if your late . You still have to wait an hour or more in the waiting room then another 20-30 minutes waiting for the dr to see you in the actual patient room and then another 20 min or so for them to consult . IT IS CRAZY .

The doctor is very attentive and caring and capable - that is, if you can ever get through to see her! Her office staff is deplorable. The phone never gets answered by a real human, voice mail messages left never get responded to, prescriptions refill calls never get returned, they have bad attitudes, rude personalities, pitifully incompetent office staff. She is too overwhelmed by booking too many patients in a day, last appointment I had I was there for 3 hours and 15 minutes. Her office staff, who I think seems to be a "pool" shared by all the doctors, are horrible and her excellent professional ability and caring nature are being severely damaged because of them. In 5 or 6 years nothing has been done to improve the situation and I'm about ready to move on to another doctor, which is a difficult thing to do these days. Very sad that her reputation is being whittled away by incompetents -

Dr. Perez and nurse practitioner Gayle Gordon are great. Always take the time to listen and evaluate. However their staff leaves much to be desired. Cannot get a call back and I am 26 hours after seeing Gayle and still have not called in the prescription to the pharmacy. This is not acceptable!

Two weeks ago I called and left a message for Dr Perez's nurse. Neither the nurse or doctor called me back yet again. This has been going on for 15 years. Everyone one blames office staff but its the Dr's fault. She has responsibility to her patients to train her office staff to return all calls and to let her know about calls that need the doctors attention

I recently had a visit with Dr Perez's office and it was an excellent experience. I saw NP-C Gayle Gordon, she took plenty of time to find out about me and my condition, I found her to be very professional and caring, I 'm not much into Doctors visits, but I will say she made it a pleasant experience. The office staff was very professional and helpful, I would recommend this Doctor's office to anyone looking for a professional but caring place for healing.

Dr Perez, her nurses, and PA are great, however the office staff is not so great. I feel they treat their jobs, and the patients like it was as a big joke. Very unprofessional.
